I bought an air cleaner a few days ago. The band is Winix, which I figured was some kind of crappy knockoff but apparently its an Asian company that's fairly well regarded.

The thing (6300) has really good reviews and I must say - after a few days downstairs its really made a difference. The air seems lighter and fresher and I definitely don't sneeze much. I think maybe I haven't sneezed at all since I turned it on.

Filter cost is like $60 a year so its manageable.

I put a deposit down on a 2012 Branson 4720h 47 hp 4x4 tractor with implements.

and sold my old Allis Chalmers. getting picked up Friday. goodbye old friend.

It’s a building stone placer patent. The claimant quarried granite for tombstones from the 1910s through the 1940s hence the derrick. When the weather cools off, we’re going to take a trip to the local cemetery and see if we can find some headstones made with the granite from the quarry.

We need a large crane more than a tractor to move granite blocks around to set as benches.

What’s your plan for the tractor?

interesting property, I have always wanted to buy a claim in the mountains here and do a little exploring for fun. a quarry is cool. don't forget your BLM paperwork.

I kept running into the limits of my Allis Chalmers. the new unit can lift about 2500 lbs with the loader and over 3000 with the 3 point. The Allis is about 900 and 1000. and and 30 years older. comes with a snow blower, 6 way blade, auger, 5 ft mower, bucket, and forks all nicely sized for the tractor. and its hydraulic drive vs the gear drive of the old unit so that my wife will feel comfortable driving it.

We recently upgraded our land to a house on 5 acres and plan to put in 2 greenhouses, 15 to 20 fruit trees, and a large workshop/barn. the larger tractor will help us do those things, the Allis is out of its league. we will also get a good amount more snow now, as we are solidly in the foothills of the Rockies and not out on the plains.
Sounds like you really need a wheel loader with forks on it.

like this! 5000 + loader capacity, with the box blade and rippers for making good work areas.

Ilooked at backhoes but I wanted the 3 point hitch and anything that does both usually has a not great back hoe attachment that kind of hangs way off the back of the machine. i'll rent a excavator for large projects and get a spade for the loader on the Branson. plus stuff with the hoe is hard to find and a lot more expensive.

We own the land; it’s a patented claim, no longer federal land.

I thought you were in Phoenix so when I read “snow blower” I was confused. Have fun with the orchard and green houses, sounds like fun. We’ve been contemplating a small green house for years. With the new land, we have room now.

I bought the C535 model from walmart in June. The other day I was able to pick up 2 sets of filters on sale for $63 from Costco.com. It doesn't look like they carry your filters if your model is the 6300-2.

I read that Costco sells the C545 for about $100 when it's on sale and it comes with 2 sets of filters. I don't have a Costco or membership so I never bought a unit from them. Also, Winix sells some refurbished models if you need another purifier. Stock can vary so keep an eye out if you're looking for a specific model. https://www.winixamerica.com/product-category/certified-refurbished-air-purifiers/

It was overcast today so we checked out the cemetery and found the grave of the original quarry operator, guessing that his headstone would be from our quarry and it is. My estimate is that one in ten headstones in the cemetery from that era came from our quarry. The granite supports much more detailed carving than I had thought.

Edit: I blanked out the first names and dates. The folks have been dead for seventy+ years but you never know how relatives might react to finding stuff about there ancestors online. The stone has a tan cast from decades of exhaust from the nearby streets and railroad. The split rock at the quarry is a lighter and more even grey. The design is very thirties art deco.

Detail from another headstone made from our granite.

A match made in heaven?

And on-topic just bought the PC game Deathloop the other day.... jury is out on how good it ultimately ends up being but leaning towards NOT happy.

Last game I bought on/before release was Mass Effect III and we know how swimmingly that went.....

At this point IF you buy Deathloop, do it on Steam so you can return it if you don't like the ...erm... unique.... style of gameplay.... and you may not find it fun at all as the function/execution of the game is poor.

I'm assuming you are talking about the "Denuvo" anti-piracy app causing a stuttering issue? (DLSS = an Nvidia resolution-upscaling driver feature)

I have yet to experience that or any other performance issues even at 1440p however I have a Ryzen 5800x/RTX-3080 based system.

Does this mean more underwater videos?
Yeah. I wanted to get this before I went to Aruba in November so I could use it for diving and snorkeling.

The Hero 4 Black was still okay. Here is one of the more recent videos I put together. I'm very curious to see the stabilization improvements though too. This one below as using post processing stabilization. The software stuff in the new one looks pretty incredible.
