Two tickets for the MoMa today for a 4th date - most excited I've been for a date after a year of dating during Covid - after going on dates with 15 or so women. And she seems to feel the same.

It seems that the salt degrades the cotton turning it, very literally, into a fine dust. It also seems accelerate combustion.

I've moved this to the bedroom. I have 2 moving, kaleidoscopic night lights that paint these lovely, fluid images on the ceiling. So the addition of a quite large flickering yellow flame is very nice. At least until I fall asleep, the alcohol burns out [so true on so many levels], and I wake to the "scent" of burning cotton dust.

I'll probably have more updates but only ones that might be useful.

A while back I mentioned HS Chem. One of the other things we learned was that, w/in certain parameters, fire won't propagate past wire mesh screening. So I cut some screening and stuffed into the canister so that it would harder to burn the cotton. Oh, I repacked the canister with 100% pure cotton balls. Still seems to burn the cotton though. Can't even really say it was less of an issue.

Got this earlier this year after I accidentally threw out my original. So much better!

I just bought a couple door switches and fuses for my microwave after taking it apart and probing around. It kept killing the circuit if I’d open it while still running, and finally blew its internal fuse. $30 and an hour of work vs $330 plus a microwave in a landfill, which is really what I wanted to avoid.

Saw the snow shovel on sale and figured why not. Will be nice for when there is a small dusting of snow where it's not really worth using the snow blower and will make a quicker job of it. I've been eyeing the Greenworks platform for a while now. Will probably get the chainsaw and lawnmower at some point too. They don't have full size snow blowers yet but other companies do now, so I imagine they will at some point. My goal is to go electric for pretty much everything over time.

We don't get nearly that much anymore. Maybe 100cm now days? Though the way they measure it officially and what is actually on the ground may be two different things. It probably does pack down over time even in untouched areas.

This thing will be more for when there's a few inches. Mostly is a toy really. But I do want to buy more Greenworks stuff so it's a way of getting an extra battery and charger. I'm eyeing the 18" chainsaw, might buy it from here to summer if I see it go on sale.
