Lightening up my main bike, plus stiffening the crankset. Fyxation carbon fork with fender and rack mounts, which I need. SRAM Force 42T carbon crankset. There were a couple lighter carbon forks but neither had both the rack and fender mounts together. Arriving tomorrow, install on happy Saturday!

2022 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E AWD - Certified pre-owned. ~20% off new MSRP and a lengthy 7/100 CPO warranty. The "bed trunk" & in-bed speakers are great features!

This is more car/truck than I've ever wanted/needed as I'm used to economy commuter cars and I'm over waiting for a Maverick Hybrid thats been on order since September.

Most likely the Honda is a LOT more reliable too long-term.

Congrats!

Another LiFePo4 car battery, H5 size. I destroyed mine over this winter storage by over-discharging it 2.7V across the terminals and refuses to accept any charging current at all.

Picked this up Friday. 1990 Tracker Pro 17 w/40hp Evinrude. Orig owner used for a few months and then passed away from cancer. Wife put it into a garage, covered, for 30 years. “Unearthed” in ‘21.

Looks like new, runs like it, too…except for idle. Prob low speed circuit in carbs semi-filthy. Gauge faces are crystal clear, but a little fade on needle red tips.

Ran her 3 hrs today…did every single thing asked of it. Fun little toy. And ‘‘twas a steal for the price paid. 🤪

I’m ill.

I can't remember if I mentioned these before, but I found some silicone steamer trays for the Instapot. I can stack 2 in my 6qt model:

They work a bit like bamboo steamers. I can drop some frozen gyozas in there with a cup of water, set it to 4 minutes, then fry them up in my wok with a little oil to make them potstickers. A+

Very nice. I was between a Ridgeline and a Hyundai Santa Cruz, and ended up with the Santa Cruz largely because the Ridgeline would be a very tight fit in my garage. 20% off MSRP seems like a great deal, and Honda should hold its value and I’d expect be more dependable than a Hyundai.

I just got my refurb Thinkpad T460s, 8GB/256GB, Win10 Pro. (inelegible for Win11, but for $169 whos complaining).

Best keyboard I've used yet in a laptop. I think it's supposed to be back-lit. It glowed briefly when I first powered-on, then it's been dark since.

Since GM broke the software allowing one to attach an iPod Classic to the car, I bought a bluetooth transmitter to link the iPod to the car. It works surprisingly well.

I have a Chromecast with an HDMI --> RCA adapter so my wife can connect with her phone to play music on. She hated the Bluetooth option because then I could hear her stupid Whatsapp voice messages between her family and secret boyfriends I am sure she has.

Re: iPod Classic. I was just missing my Minidisc Player the other day. I loved the mechanics, I loved how cool it looked, I loved the cassettes, everything! But now I just pay ten or twenty bucks a month for Spotify, which has over 100 million songs that I can ask Siri or Alexa to play instantly. No loading a physical cartridge, no downloading, etc. Plays anywhere on any device I have...TV, smart speakers, cell phone, car, etc. I miss the physicality of the whole setup tho!

I have 15.1k tracks on my phone. 1144.2hr of music. I'd rather spend $10 or $20 on albums from bandcamp.

Still have my MD Recorder/CD Changer deck. And a MD walkman. Collecting dust though.

I have an Pioneer SATA BluRay drive in an ext USB3 enclosure (and a 2ed spare drive in a box) I use to play discs on my PC and my car still has a CD player that will also play audio tracks on most DVD's.

Additionally my old PS3 works perfectly as a BRD player, I have a near-mint Toshiba HD DVD player and a high-end vintage Sony DVD player too. (PS3 = best audio)

So you're one of those guys breaking part 15 and interfering with my radio...
Not to mention... you know... actually owning the music? (effectively)

(also most CD's/other discs sound FAR better!)
Yep. I will only purchase physical media.

I'm signed up for YT Premium personally BUT when I really like a recording I too seek out a CD/DVD. Far as streaming music content goes current YT is having a bit of a "Napster" moment despite the ads ... and it won't last!

Discs are still widely available for now. I suggest stocking up!

"Old guys" will be around for a long time...and so long as artists actually release albums vs. singles with filler

The faster the music/movie industry can eliminate physical media the better far as they are concerned.

Us "old guys" don't drive popular music/video sales.
