A refurbished R10 + kit lens from Canon and a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 for RF mounts.

Still waiting for the delivery of the camera body, but held a copy in a local camera store with the Sigma lens, and wow, that thing is light compared to a 77D and a standard zoom lens I was selling off to mitigate the upgrade costs. Will probably sell off the kit lens once I test out the camera. Only selected the refurb kit since it was cheaper than the body-only option.

4 gallon backpack sprayer. I'm testing out iron-based herbicide + a surfactant that's safe for stocked ponds/potable water, in an attempt to keep the lawn looking CRISP without having to spray it with cancer juice. The trusted 2 gallon pump sprayer is not a sustainable option for spraying acreage lol.

Finally bit the bullet and bought a new pair of wireless buds, Galaxy Buds FE. Previously I was still using OG Galaxy Buds. What a difference ANC makes on a plane...simply wonderful!

I’m the keeper of the only CD drive left in our office. We have over a terabyte of records that only exist on CD/DVD but no one wants to take the time to copy them to any modern format. It will bite us on the ass eventually.
What makes you think the discs are not corroded yet?

I decided to go through some of my old archive CDs a while back. Back in the day I used to make a "to burn" folder where I would put anything in there that I want to keep/archive then burn it once it got close to 700MB and make an index print out so I know what's on the CD.

I started going through them and realized most of them were in the very early 2000's. It was pretty nostalgic going through all that. I was pleasantly surprised that none of it was corrupted either, but 20 years for a regular burnt CD is probably pushing it. I do wonder if DVDs are as good or not. By the time DVDs came out I kinda stopped doing it as I had tons of local storage by then, and a file server too so just kept everything live. There is something to be said about having a proper cold storage archive though. I eventually want to get a LTO drive and start doing that again. I have cold storage backups of course but a proper archive on a format designed for it, and set as read only, would be a better approach.

Picked up a pair of NB 574 Classics. Can't wait to try them on and see how they fit. If you're a sneaker fan these are one of the best.

The wife and I were just talking about NBs the other day. I'm currently in the market for some business casual sneakers/shoes that'll go good with say shorts and a polo and she said that for some reason NBs are pretty popular with the kids now (she's an elementary teacher so she hears kids talking about brands sometimes).

Those def. look classic though!

If you're going NB, at least take the opportunity to get 990v6...made in USA.

On my front, tickets to see Oasis next September.

Unchanged for over 35 years. That not only goes for the look but the quality as well. If it ain't broke then don't fix it.
