You ARE. Ctrl+X/Ctrl+V can be done with the left hand, meaning your right hand can stay on your... uh... mouse.
I did use your combo many years ago, but have since adjusted.

I did that with my Insert key on one of my keyboards. My other keyboard doesn't have an Insert key (it's a Logitech and most of them don't have it; the ones that do can disable it in software).

This is how I do it. So many people have never heard of this method of copy/paste in my experiences.

Why? Just seems to me like that method would require you to either use two hands or use your right hand, which is less convenient since you have to take your hand off the mouse.

I never overwrite and if i do it's because I accidentally hit the Insert key.

I hate the insert key. I'd pry it off my keyboard if I didn't think it would make my keyboard look ugly.
