Dell Venue 8 Pro 32GB for $250 right now!

Thats a full Windows 8.1 tablet with quad-core Bay Trail Z3740D, insane value. If only I lived in the US...
Interesting, thanks!
Another thing that bothers me on tablets is backlighting, it's tiring and it bothers my wife at night I'm considering a dedicated e-book reader such as Kindle Paperwhite.
This is getting off-topic, so I'll stop here
I heard somewhere that the Dell Venue 8 Pro is on single channel.
Processor: Intel® Atom processor Z3740D (2MB Cache, up to 1.8GHz Quad-Core)
Memory: 2GB Single Channel DDR3L-RS 1600MHz
It also includes Office Home & Student 2013.
So with Windows 8.1 + Office, how much space will be left on the 32GB eMMC?

you might want to get a pair of glasses instead, it says $299/349, not 249
some DoA complaints on amazon for the dell venue 8 pro (1star reviews)
think Microsoft needs to talk more with their partners to avoid these problems.... how can you have first-boot BSOD/instability problems? their QA/QC department must have been on budget cuts
I love this:
Given Piednoel push on Twitter for reviewers to use Principled Technologies benchmarks, there is little doubt it is biased. I'm glad some reviewers didn't listen to Intel.Intel wanted to media to use the Principled Technologiess WebXPRT benchmarking suite, which is known to be a benchmarking platform friendly to Intels processors

That being said, the article is wrong about BT frequencies. In most benchmarks turbo will be on which means 2.4 GHz for the Intel ref tablet and 1.8 GHz for ASUS T100.
That article is entirely speculative, and the author seems to not be much of an expert (fabrication shrinkage for tick and die shrinkage for tock -- if anything, the dies get bigger with a tock). The guy also has a unibrow, and we can safely discredit that article based on that single fact.14nm Airmont Atoms will have Intel 8th Generation Graphics?

Thats is exactly why i whould not buy a BT device, im kind of expecting that to happen on 14nm and we are maybe 8 months away...
Eventually Intel will have to ask themselves: what’s the point? As benchmarks show, Bay Trail is a technically promising platform, but its execution thus far has almost been relatively lackluster.
They were using the T100 for their .79 score, which AnandTech managed to get a 1.24 with. The Tech Report received identical scores to AnandTech's.Odd article. It talks a ton about theoretical problems that Bay Trail has, but doesn't really point to any concrete evidence that they exist.
For example:
This statement has zero support in the article. Nadda, zilch. Not to say there haven't been problems, but this is just poor journalism.
I also am somewhat confused by the reported benchmarks for the t100. It lists Cinebench at .79, yet Anand's review reported it at 1.48. Maybe I'm missing something there.

I think it's pretty safe to say he's not ready to hang with the big boys yet, and that his opinions and findings can be safely discarded.

Where? As far as I know Android is not ready to run on Bay Trail as Intel is late in developing the required stuff. Aren't you rather talking about CloverTrail+ Android? As for android, dell is advertising bay trail android tablets for sale now, although I don't see much purpose to it.

And yes there certainly is no point in that kind of devices with low perf, except perhaps that's where the market is heading?
