Well if you double the number of registers, that's more than only enlarging the address space, no? Here is a summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86-64Homeles states that their are more improvements to 64-bit than just more address space. But as far as I know, that isn't true. 64-bit address space is just that: the ability to use more RAM (+ about 10% performance boost).
Sure, but what has that to do with "64-bit"?
