Divide by members in your house. 1000 divided by 4 people = 250GB.

100/10 unlimited $75 a month. Had 50/10 Unlimited for $65 a month before switching from vDSL to Cable.

The incumbents here have competition from about 5 or 6 third party providers. All it takes to kill the caps and bullshit prices is competition to show that providing service costs nowhere near as much as the big companies charge end-users as if it does.

Third party providers here just won the right to provide fiber to the home to compete against the incumbents. Should be available in a year or so.

What happened, they decided to add a cap? That blows. My internet is uncapped, my worse fear is that they do eventually decide to cap it. 50/30 uncapped is pretty awesome. Also in the latest pfsense update it is very hard if impossible to even get a reading of cumulative usage so it would be hard to even track. They went and screwed up all the graphs.

I'd think adding 8 or 9 competitors might make the business a bit less lucrative.

I'm for broadband companies getting the long distance company treatment. Make them lease services to independent companies for cost plus a few percent.

Mine used to be 20gb a month....they have recently upgraded and we now have 300gb

If you have a 4k TV absolutely and the right viewing distance/size tv of course.

In many ways it's just as big of a differnece that SD/HD was. And you are repeating the same things said back then also.

Even at my heaviest usage, I never got any complaints from Verizon. From what I hear, there is no official cap for FIOS but there's a soft cap of 10TB. Go over that a few times and you might get a letter.

This is true, they have stated numerous time that the fiber to home is not shared and they have no need for caps and could handle multiple times the traffic without needing caps.
They do look at enormous users, most of the are actual businesses that are on cheaper consumer rates, so if you're using an absurd amount of data they'll push you towards a business rate.

Big business is opposed to gubnit and gubnit regulations right up to the point at which they figure out they can use gubnit to kill off the competition without ever having to compete. Figures.

Pay $30 more and get unlimited. In the case of AT&T, if you also get a TV package you will not have a cap enforced. Also, isn't Comcast, for the most part, not enforcing their caps?

Yeah it sucks, but face it, voters don't seem to care. Oh sure, they scream and stomp their feet about it but in the end they pretty much ignore whatever their guys are doing in office and simply vote against the other party.

It will get worse before it gets better.
