Don't get me wrong, I think any apology he gives will be just as much manipulative BS as his trumped up (<---see what I did there) attack story was. If the #metoo movement ended a bunch of careers, and Liam Neeson is now a racist who deserves to lose movie deals, then a stunt like this should end Smollett's career as well.

At this point that's way too difficult to play off. When you're facebook/instagram (or whatever social media) followers of eachother, and you have eachother saved in your phone... and you work out at the same gym together... It's kind of hard to just brush it off.

It's easy to understand WHY someone would do this when you're constantly told by the media and the public that you're a victim. You want to believe it so much that you're willing to attempt to fake it.
