The minute the two men were arrested, he appeared to have responded by hiring Michael Cohen's criminal defense attorney. Of course the defense strategy is deniability. Their job is to keep him out of jail.
I just figure that is... beyond a doubt the HARDEST thing to approve in court. It's pretty hard to deny you know someone when you have years and years of evidence that is publicly available online, at your employer (witness evidence), and more....

No one likes being played.I'm really pissed off at this guy. I was willing to believe his initial story because circumstances today made it plausible. Also didn't think someone would toss away a career like that.
He is a traitor to both the LGBTQ and black communities who gave him nothing but love after telling his story. He may have no idea how much of a setback this is for people reporting real hate crimes.
He needs to be charged with filing a false police report and suffer the consequences.
At some point he needs to confess his motive.
They need to throw the book at this guy. Incidents like this undermine public confidence in the reporting of actual hate crimes, of which there are many.

AFAIK there is one charge which can be leveled, making a false police report. It's a felony. Typically 1-2 years.
