If you are interested in ps4 try pick up a used ps3 on craigslist. When I picked up this game yesterday 4 people were trading in their 360 systems and games towards the ps4. My friend got a ps3 used for 80 bucks. Look around I'm sure you can find one.

To be honest if my ps3 kicked the bucket right now I would be pissed because I would be waiting for the ps4. I mainly use it now to watch and stream shows and movies.

He ended up getting an older model, the fat one with like a 20gb hd. But he mainly played bf3 and uncharted while I was visiting him on vacation.

I offered to upgrade his hard drive to a 320gb and I would set it up too but he didn't want to spend the money for it. My ps3 better not die before I finish the last of us, I would be livid lol.

I would probably borrow a console from a friend until November or take my brother's until he brought his grades up haha.

I have the fat 60gb, which is why I wanted to salvage it. $80 for a used working machine is pretty good, especially a BC model.

I'm slowly progressing through this game(at the Hotel Lobby). I'm literally trying to go in every room and check every drawer I can find. There's some parts that scared the crap out of me, in a "OMG I didn't expect that right there" way. The game is constant tension but I have more fun fighting the "normal people" than the infected.

One thing that bugs the crap out of me is runners. It's like you fight one and there's 10 that come literally out of nowhere behind you. It's a bogus game mechanic IMO. The combat feels a little clumsy at times as well, like you can swing and miss and it's easy to get turned around. The main gripe I have though is the melee weapons. How does a shiv break after two uses? I can take a pair of scissors and stab something a thousand times and it'll still pierce. Or a pipe breaking apart from hitting a guy? Kind of lame...I think I can understand why they did this, but it is annoying when you are trying to conserve ammo and suddenly lose your weapon when there's a clicker in your face. The only good thing is Shivs are easy to craft. I think only being able to carry 3 is a bit lame but whatever.

The story and characters are awesome and it really makes you feel a part of their world for sure.

That's why they did it, gameplay would be too easy if stuff lasted forever. Makes you really think twice about using your items. Definitely makes for a better game.

I just want to say that I'm generally a PC gamer--rarely do I play a game on console. However, I heard good things about The Last of Us so I picked it up. I beat it tonight, and I can say that TLOU is up there on my list of favorite gaming experiences. From the opening act to the ending, I was blown away by the narrative, action, drama, humanity, and heartbreak. I have a lot of respect for Naughty Dog to stick to a controversial yet memorable ending that I am sure will spur discussion and leave a lasting impression. I'd love to hear what everyone elses' thoughts are on the ending. Spoiler tag of course!

Bring on the Last of Us movie. I'm ready.

The runner thing is easy, it isn't a bogus game mechanic. I tested it because I was thinking the same thing. I went through a semi large area and counted all the runners in the area, I then went back and fight one and no more than what I counted showed up. The thing is, when you do your R2 listen thing, they only show up so far away (even when fully upgraded the distance is still within their hearing range from what I've seen). So when you do the R2 to see what is around and you count say 4 guys total but when you attack more show up as you fight, it is because the ones further away got alerted, they didn't show up out of nowhere.

I agree that the shiv/pipes/etc break damn easy. But I understand why it is, otherwise you'd walk around with an axe/pipe for almost the entire game and that would be lame. Around 60% of my total kills were from melee attacks. I much prefered the sneaky stabby method

My local craigslist is full of ps3's but they are easily $175 plus, I may as well trade my stuff and get one for no or little cash out of pocket with some kind of warranty

Well at least it's a good thing in this case. Ps+ has some decent stuff on it this month too. I had plus before a long time ago and had Infamous 2, lbp 2 and ratchet and clank which I never even played. So ill start off with those games, ill buy plus again for 3 months and download the games that come up over the next few months

Well uncharted 3 is supposed to be on there this month if I remember correctly, I need to check the list again. At least ill have some good games to play after I get done with TLOU of course

That's roughly the halfway mark, so your time is in line with the average playthrough.

I only played for like 3hours and got seriously discouraged after dying like 15 times in the same area with 1 clicker and 5 or so runners. I finally did it but it felt so messy.
