The Last of Us

Shenmue was different...it was the first game with every character being voiced etc. It plays a little bit like a life simulator where you can do odd jobs and such. I loved it, still do. Plus the music was really well done and fit the feeling of the story really well. It was hard to love at first though and I wished it had more action.

Just got this game this weekend. So far I love it. Only thing that bugs me is that sometimes when I shoot somebody with the bow, I get the arrow back, and other times I don't. I don't know if this is random or if I am shooting them in a certain location that it breaks the arrow...

Shooting in certain locations. Basically a head shot with someone without armor is about the only way to be assured to get the arrow back. If the arrow hits something hard the tip breaks off.

Yeah, this is what it was basically. I only got arrows back from head shots.

Also... I noticed on a "mission" where I need to clear a path, ie.. Kill all the badies in the area, I can silently kill them all but for one, and if he gets alerted, some how like 3-4 more guys show up, that I never saw before. It's like the game either lets you kill them all silently, or if you alert them, you HAVE to fight a few guys.

It seems like that at times but when I think about it, those guys come around the corner and such. You could probably miss them if you didn't check a certain path.

Yeah one thing is certain. The game doesn't spawn enemies. The closest it does is with the key card and generator mission, but if you use listen mode when picking up the card you can see them coming from one path and then taking up spots around you.

Actually it does in at least one area (maybe more), but you have to be purposefully trying to break the game to notice it. It's when an event is triggered, in the sewers iirc, where your goal is very clear: Run like hell to the open door where the others are waiting. If you kill the infected chasing after, and then run the opposite direction you'll hit a dead end and the enemies will re-spawn and start the event again. It's kind of hilarious because you'll be standing in a dead end tunnel and four or five more infected will appear out of nowhere all around you and begin attacking. It was showcased on a series of Youtube videos called something like 'How not to play The Last of Us.'

Just finished!! Pretty good ending I think. People online said they were totally shocked by the ending... But I wasn't. I kind of felt that coming for a while based on Joel's personality.

I feel like if they really wanted, they could do a sequel. I think it ended fine and doesn't need one... But if they want to they could. Hopefully they put as much time and effort into it as this one if they do.

I think the way the story ended...They don't NEED to make one... But they could if they want.

Possibilities are endless as far as that goes. It would be cool if maybe they did one from a POV of the fireflies, but otherwise they are limitless as to who they want to base a story around. And for that matter, they could just churn out game after game about different people, their stories and the outcome.

They could even flip the perspective. Create a 20year old daughter or Son who when they were 7-8 never understood why his/her Dad/Mother abandoned them on a bus (the driver was willing to take the kid but no room for the parents). Or why they never came to find them. 13 years later he/she knows what had really happened but never really got over it and therefore has a major issue with authority figures.

Pair that 20 something with a 40-50 year old loaner whom never had kids but tries to watch out for him/her. Maybe some quest to join the Fireflies to hit out against the man. Let the ending be a reverse as well, have the kid save the person when they attempt to do something similar to what the kids parent did years ago or maybe this time have the person truly sacrifices him/herself for the kid. It would be sadder but this time they understand completely understands both the Older person's choice and the parents from way back and comes to terms with both.

You could even have an intro similar to the original with you playing the parent this time dealing with all the efforts to get the kid out of the area and leaving them on the Bus/train/whatever and even a few minutes after they leave have them killed by infected/soldiers.

I want to play it, but I'm thinking it'd be better to get a hard copy. I only want to play through the SP and will never go back to it if I finish it at all, so then I could resell it.

You should stop playing whatever you are at the moment and buy The Last of Us. It's one of those few games per generation that is a must play for ANYBODY that even remotely has an interest in playing video games. Plus it's cheaper.
