Been a long time since I bought a console game...might get this one

IGN gave it a 10. Is IGN a paid for review site now or is this a legit review?

The review is legit IMO. I have read many reviews on IGN and most of the time they are pretty close to how I would feel about a particular game. So I do tend to put more weight behind their review than others because I have never felt they gave a game a bad score when it deserved better nor give too high a score.

It is really all opinion but they do a good job explaining why this game is pretty incredible and it was well written.

Always thought trying to pirate console games was too much of a hassle. Gotta downgrade firmware, get custom firmware, download the files, then either burn it on a blu ray disc or use it off an external hard drive. It's quite a bit of effort

Anyway I pre ordered this game, looks cool. Probably the last console game I'll buy this generation - if I even get a next gen console

It was rather simple years ago. Now I think the negatives outweigh the benefit of it. Being banned from XBL isn't attractive when you are paying yearly for it.

I will be buying it day one, and then the only other games I want will be GTA and Beyond: Two Souls. I am at the point where I think I will get a pc as soon as I get back from vacation and start messing around with that and wait to see how next gen unfolds. If the PS4 looks really good, I will grab it for the exclusives.

I think you pay monthly for XBL now. Used to be $50 a year, now it's $5 a month I think. I stopped subscribing because it's a ripoff. I hate how you have to pay another $5 a month just to access your Netflix or HBO GO which you already pay monthly for. PS3 has 360 beat in that way.

I think if I get a next gen console it'll be the PS4. PS3 I think has had better exclusives, Last of Us being a good example. No charge for internet access is much more appealing as well.

You can still buy yearly subscriptions for Xbox Live.

The problem I see with PSN being free is you can make as many accounts as you have emails. In Halo 2, cheating as bad enough with them being banned within 6 hours of playing online and having to pay for an account.

If that happened on PSN, there would be no way to stop them from just instantly creating a new account to get banned.

Seriously, the time spent doing all that can be spent at Micky D's and you'll have the money to buy the game legitimatley... lol

Wow just saw the Meta score for this, 96/100 after 61 reviews is nearly impossible, gonna have to give it a try I guess. Hope it brings something new to the table, if it's standard-issue Uncharted-with-zombies then I may pass.

Not a bad way to go really. Early launch games may not be super exciting anyhow. Aside from Watch Dogs I cannot think of any confirmed launh title so far that I would even buy with it. I personally decided that unless there is a very compelling game released at launch, I will wait until spring or so to pick up a PS4. I really do want one because of all the great exclusives that Sony has done on th PS3 but I kind of want to be able to play some games on it instead of leave it sitting on the shelf for a bit while I wait for releases. I also will be keeping busy with my WiiU with potentially getting some blockbuster releases and of course my handheld gaming (Vita getting Tearaway and 3DS getting new Zelda). So for me, i will be busy enough as it is lol.

I watching Address the Sess and The Last of Us came up and someone asked about The Last of Us' violence compared to Bioshock Infinite and this is what he said:

Zach Meier when he played it, when we were working on it together for the review, um, he just got in his car and drove around San Francisco....It really is an affecting game I do not recommend rushing through it.....It, it gets under your skin. It's something else...

Compared to Bioshock? Bioshock is tame by any standard of the imagination. They should have asked as compared to Uncharted, Tomb Raider, or GTA.

IIRC it was because of the backlash Bioshock Infinite got because of their portrayal if violence.

What violence? I played the game to the end and honestly it has ZERO real violence. Headhsots didn't do anything different from leg shots. Nothing was violent about the game at all..

Maybe the mass killing? Killing is considered pretty damn violent.

Yeah I don't think you can say ZERO violence. The most violent part was probably in the beginning, the part that starts the actual gameplay. You know, when the character uses that spinning thing on that dudes face?

This might be one game I may actually buy when it releases because it looks pretty decent. Have not touched my ps3 in who knows how long. I use it now mainly as a media server to stream shows and stuff from my computer.

20 hours? That is longer than nearly any non RPG and even some RPG's nowadays.

Oh, I know. I was just hoping for it to be really long. Kind of like your first playthrough of Ocarina of Time. You just get lost because you're not used to this 3d world and there is so much to do.
