Don't know if they can be unlocked - not found anything on the web about doing it.

But did find this thread where a Singapore based seller is suggesting there may be a BIOS revision due out that may increase the pipes??? but if you read the thread fully I think its a case of I'll believe it when I see it (or install it!)!!!

Am not pleased with Overclockers, but the card is very quick and a huge jump over my previous FX5700, so won't complain too much.

Overclockers UK has changed their Leadtek 7800GS website descriptions AGAIN! Now there are 2 separate listings for the Leadtek 7800GS - one with 16 pipes, and another with 20. You'll have to scroll down to see the Leadtek boards:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Nvidia_AGP_Graphics_Cards.html

It will be interesting to see what Nana12 receives on his Leadtek "20 pipeline" order. My fingers are crossed, but given the fact that NO ONE globally can actually prove the 20 pipe G71 AGP claims, I'm starting to think "Shuttle replacement" instead of "6800GT replacement"...

You should be very irritated. The standard 16pipe 7800gs is not worth getting at all. The 20pipes and huge overclocking potential (1.4ns) of the Leadtek made it somewhat worth it.

The ordinary pcie 7600gt is very close in performance to the 7800gs but costs only 130GBP (after vat). Pair with a good pcie mb and you still save money which is why the ordinary agp 7800gs is pointless unless someone is upgrading an Athlon XP pc.

well, i hope that i am getting a 20 pipe, or overclockers.co.uk will be getting a chargeback. they can't just advertise its 20 pipes and not deliver. so, on that point im not worried...

what i am worried about is that its the 12th today, and according the "Royal Mail" website when I track my package the status is:

"We have received your item, posted on 05/06/06 and it is being processed for delivery abroad to UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. "

8 days later and its still processing? Overclockers sure got the charge date right... it posted to my mastercard on june 5th.

just one more thing to mention, they did split the items into 2 different ones, my order receipt does have the matching part number for the 20 pipe version... we'll see what happens.

I got caught by Overclockers UK misleading information and ordered one after inquiring about their claims that the GX-085-LT had 20 pipe enabled out of the box :

Dear Sid Vicious,

Thank you for your web note yes this does come with 20 pipelines

This afternoon, I noticed that they changed their page from This to This, see how the mentions of a 20 pipe GPU suddenly disapeared !

I am furious about this, I hate being lied to and being taken advantage off !

Meanwhile, my order is currently being shipped by Royal Mail...

I have checked the Overclockers website and they must have changed it to 16 pipes. Either that or I am going mad!

Too bad that Google kept a Cached Copy of their page from the 7th of June.

just chargeback the purchase on your credit card claiming fraud. it's true, you have the proof.. as a retailer they have to advertise the truth or face having things like this happen. On the very large chance that mine when it shows up ( its been processing for 9 days now - hasnt even shipped I dont believe) will be the 16 pipe version, its going to take me about 3.5 seconds to call my credit card company and have them reverse the charge. I'll probably have to pay to ship it back but hey, oh well.

I've heard rumors that they are going to properly release some faster AGP cards soon, so maybe I'll just wait.

Thing is, that card was bought by a friend as a trade between he and myself, simply cancelling the transaction and shipping it back to OverScammers UK would be too easy on them, they deserve to pay for their ill intents and arrogance, see how they responded to that guy from Hardware Zone after changing their website.

I truly hope that they get themselves into a whole lot of trouble.

Yeah it looks like they are big liars.
Also the blurb says to "Call XFX UK on 09068354400...." for support which is odd for a Leadtek card.

They are now trying the bait and switch on the '20 pipe' 7800gs GX-030-GW.

Bait & Switch marketing is considered an outright fraud in most industrialised countries, I really intend to take this to the medias if it turns out that I receive a 16 pipe card !

Getting that card was my first intention but I got suckered into chosing the £176.95 Leadtek 7800GS instead.

I have the firm intention of requesting that they give me what they said they would deliver; a 20 pipes video card for AGP.

Well.... I got F'd in the A on this one.

Everest reports G70GSAGP, 16 Pipes. Thanks overclockers! This package was the yellow box, with the 90nm label on the side.. and the sticker did reflect the OC UK part number for the "20 pipe" version.. not the other one they had online for a bit with the different part number and "16 pipe" description.

Not a G71, not 20 pipes out of the box, and with stock frequencies this card scored 50 more points than my 6800 GT OC.

Anyways, the card is faster than my 6800 GT once you crank it up.. here is what I got out of it tonite. For some reason my 6800 would report the memory at 1.0Ghz, 1.07 Ghz etc.. and the 7800 started at 600, while the OC UK site said 1200, so I'm guessing the real number is just double.

All of these are with the trial version 3d Mark 05 @ 1024x768 32bpp 0xAA, 0xAF

6800 GT OC (400/1070 - highest i could clock it) Score: 4573
7800 GS (375/600 - stock) Score: 4628
7800 GS (430/715) Score: 5063
7800 GS (475/730) Score: 5342
7800 GS (505/760 - highest i could get) Score: 5467

Pretty lame that they lied about it like that and now seem to be not honoring their advertisement. I'm going to charge it back and wait (hopefully) for a faster 7900 AGP card in the future. You've been warned!!!
