They went into over time random winner is selected 60 seconds put on the clock and the first person to score wins (if no one scores the "random" winner chosen wins)

Anyway, there is 10 seconds left, they go down to 1 second with still no hits, they make 3 attempts at 1 second (probably only .1 second left at this point) THEN THE CLOCK RESETS...
so they reset the score clock at 1 second but they have no way of knowing what fraction of a second it was at before, the german gets the touch in the final second and they call it a win for her (if time had run down the south korean would have won). It was the longest god damn second in history and they are currently doing a written appeal.

When it is tied and they go into overtime they do a coin toss to decide the winner in case they go over the extra 1 minute with no point scored.

Well the time keepers are volunteers, the time stops the moment a touch scores, but starting the time is a human pressing a button so there was human error involved.

witch is why they went to a full second when there was maybe 1/4th a second left. it really screwed that girl over.
