We've been over this. Airing major events live on NBC Prime when no one can watch them is doing no one any favors. The major events are rightfully played during Prime Time so that the largest number of people possible get a chance to watch them.

I pay for cable, and have CNBC, Bravo, MSNBC and NBC sports network but the cable company in my town is small and apparently cable providers had to purchase the option to carry the olympics on those channels, and if they didnt purchase it the only channel providing olympic coverage is regular NBC, and without purchasing that option no LiveExtra either. That's what they told me when I called and asked at least.

Because we have amatuers playing on team Canada on every level, it's their thing. Along comes the Olympics and they are all given the boot for the Pros.

Who are the "professional" javelin throwers, long jumpers, synchronized swimmers, shot putters, and 100 yard dashers, besides the Olympians? Skiers, ski jumpers, curlers, figure skaters, bob sledders, and lugers may not make their living doing those things, but they're definitely "pros" at doing them. All of the people who compete in those events are the best in the world at doing those events. Same should be true for basketball, soccer, hockey, etc.
