I think that's BS. This is the Olympics, which should be about competition to find the best athletes. They should take the top 24, period. No restriction to two per country.

agreed. this 2 per country is bs when it leaves out some of the top gymnast. Hopefully this is a rule that is changed. but it does give a chance to other countries.

I am very excited for both our Gymnastics squad. Especially the women. Gabrielle Douglas and Aly Raisman qualified for the Individual All Around and the team as a whole is ranked no.1 right now.

Very excited. I love Gabby Douglas's intensity she is the BEST gymnast on bars in the United States and I can't wait till we stick it to China's cheating ass team and administration.

Ah yes artificially adjust the rules to reduce the advantage... Awesome why do we pretend the Olympics are legitimate again?
The United State's under-24s should still have a significant advantage over any other nation's under-24s. It won't reduce the advantage as much as you seem to think.

Also, the NBA owners will appreciating their stars getting a real rest at the end of the season.

It happens once every four years. It's not like NBA players are super tired and get no rest every season.

With the FIBA schedule, it's every other year.
It's not like NBA players are super tired and get no rest every season.
If you don't think NBA players are tired at the end of a full season + playoffs, you either don't watch the sport or have very limited powers of observation. FWIW, the Heat and Thunder members of this year's team got about a ten-day break before Olympic team practices started.
The owners also have worries about serious injuries during FIBA and Olympic competition. They're not dead set on getting the under-24 rule in place, but they definitely support the change.

Kim Rhode breaks the Olympic record in skeet shooting, and ties the world record with a score of 99 out of 100. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AK_UWAeeGw The competition wasn't even close.

Also the first American to win medals at five straight Olympics, beating Carl Lewis, Joyner-Kersee and Bruce Baumgartner who won medals in four straight Olympics.

Gold - Atlanta 1996
Bronze - Sydney 2000
Gold - Athens 2004
Silver - Beijing 2008
Gold - London 2012

Because there's nothing you could have experience that compares to *real* racism that african americans endured in this country from its birth and up to the civil rights act of 1964 and onward. you compare yourself to that, you do those people a disservice. i'm sorry if some kids at school called you names, but that's not going to win you any sympathy points. the reality is that asians by and large do very well in this country. look at any measure of education and asians are over-represented.

lulz so the Chinese (and South East Asians) slave labours that were working on the railroads didn't count huh? They were bought and sold just like cattle. There were sent in to either set the explosives or to light them or check out the hole after blast because they were expendable.

How about the No Dog and Chinese Allowed signs that were posted in China in consession territories?

Fact is racism has a long history and well, it is not over yet. We just saw some of that in Eurocup and the Golden Dawn in Greece is no joke.

Listened to some Mike&Mike this morning, they absolutely panned the opening ceremony.

It was also hilarious watching the local NBC new yesterday, they were the only news outlet avoiding the mention of any of the events as if most of the world diidnt already know, with the main desk chic receiving an emmy nominee for the way she kept acting like she wanted to go home after to see the events for the first time.

I highly doubt that Zeze was building the Union Pacific railroad as an indentured servant...

Damn the BBC coverage is phenomenal. You can go back to previous day events and watch the whole thing, as soon as they post them. Does take a while for them to post all of them, I am guessing compressing them.

It went along with the theme of Briton through time. We started off with farming type culture, moved into industrial rev., then moved to war, more industry, then into music which was a primary part of the late 50's-80's/90's and into today. Then moved to a recognizable British tv shows and today with pop music, internet, and how it's affected the youth of today in Briton.

Did you not follow this?

so the only product of England for the past 40 years is music and smart phones?? wow no wonder they on the verge of a depression, oh and Voldemort?

I'm saying that alcohol and partying is a way of life in the UK more than in most, google England + Alcohol I'm sure there's a lot of search results.

umm wow. ever hear of Oktoberfest? and is drinking and partying really that great of a thing to highlight a significant portion of the Olympic opening games with? to show the world with? good god no wonder your country is on the brink of financial collapse.
