I'm obsessed with Miyake Hiromi

She's a japanese weightlifter who doesn't have roid zits, baritone voice, and cro magnon jaw.

Its not only riding a horse, its making the horse your bitch. Making it skip, prance, dance, and sing you melodies

that is sooo lame. now riding a woman like that, that would be an olympic event.

That's a lot more than taunting. More of a threat.

The furor about hearing results before getting to watch replays is baffling. If it's so important that you not know the results before you watch on TV, it's pretty much YOUR job to isolate yourself from anything that might inform you of the results.

i disagree to an extent.

yesterday on the way home from work i was listening to sports talk radio (as i do every day on the way home from work) and they do sports updates every 15 minutes or so. first thing they talked about was the swimming results. i didn't even have a chance to change the channel. no warning or nothing.

then later on i opened a browser and the homepage was msnbc and right on the front page was the same results. i couldn't avoid it.

same thing when i went to cnn.com - it was right there on the homepage in the center.

i think it would be pretty ridiculous to not go to a news site or listen to the radio in general in fear of seeing the results.

Are you mental? The whole point of those updates every 15 min is to give you the latest results. Why would you listen to the radio or look at anything if you are trying to avoid being informed?

spoiler alert is really only a forum thing.

Yesterday was day 4 of the Olympics and people have been complaining about 'spoilers' since day 1 and yet you still have the sports radio channel on?

I totally support the expulsions, but changing the tournament from elimination to round robin was dumb. Now teams will just try to lose more subtly.

I dunno, if they all do it, then it's almost a competition on its own to see who can play the worst.

Pretty hilarious. It was quite obvious what they were trying to do.

it is sad that they didn't realize if they made it look more realistic instead of overtly throwing the game, this strategy might have worked...

this bring the question on how the badminton formats work...usually teams that lose have harder match up later. I wonder how the badminton format works...

i still dont understand how throwing a game gives you an easier matchup later...don't the lower seeded teams (which lost more) face higher seeded ones?

Seems like the more nbc goes to attempt and hide the results by now showing those events till later in the day, the more all tthe other content sources have gone to put the reesults out as soon as possible.

China was doing it so they wouldnt have to play the other china team until the gold medal match, if they both made it that far. Korea responded by trying to thawrt the chinese team's effort by not trying, and we ended up with that joke of a match. I dont know why the other two teams were doing it.

I guess they are trying to avoid meeting China by moving to the middle of the rankings.

hahah watching it now on BBC its great. its obvious what they are trying to do. EVERY hit is in the net. or they let it go thinking its going out when its 2 ft in.

LOL

lol the first set it was insane. either they served into the net, out the side or way out the back. if the serve was over (rare) they would then hit in into the net.

2nd set is a little better. but there is still a LOT of hitting into the net. Not as blatant as the 1st but China is still putting most into the net.
