Not all of the players on USA Basketball are like that. I think most of them are great team players, especially the 'lower tier' guys. However, did you see Kobe today? Looked like a total chump out there.

I dont understand this cycling event they just showed. Why dont they actually race on the first lap instead of seeing who can go the slowest without falling over? Or is the first lap not even part of the race?

that ref didn't call multiple fouls...sandwiched on a jump, scissor kicking the legs, ect...nothing rigged about it...just a shitty ref. Welcome to Soccer...

i've seen it called. but never on a keeper. they usually have more sense than to hold the ball for so long.

edit: it was called against Brazil in last years Women's world cup vs USA when that dumb wise and beautiful woman stood on the ball for like 30 seconds because she was mad about something.

From Fifa's Laws of the Games:

An indirect free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a goalkeeper, inside his
own penalty area, commits any of the following four offences:
• controls the ball with his hands for more than six seconds before releasing
it from his possession

The goalie held the ball for at least 10seconds (from when she controlled the ball to when the whistle blows). The ref made the correct call.

A direct free kick is also awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following three offences:
• handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own
penalty area)

The defender's arm was away from her body, the ball was not straight at her, and she blocked the ball from going into the net.


In any case, it was a great game and either side should be proud of this effort. :thumbsup:
