Get your facts straight.

The referee, as reported by every news outlet, is Norwegian (Christiana Pedersen).

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/soccer-canadians-accuse-referee-defeat-u-174738851--sow.html

BTW, these Canadian women should act with class and grace, especially considering the amount of potential fouls the Canadians imposed that weren't called during the game.

In soccer, several games ALWAYS have shit that goes down that ain't called.

In soccer ------> It is what it is.

And if you've seen interviews among world soccer pros on this theme/topic, they say that's the "beauty" of it all...the imperfections that cause discussion and love and interest for the game. And they wouldn't change it....warts and all.

Those Canadian ladies, as elite athletes, should know better and STFU and stop the sour grapes routine. USA ladies team have had shit happen to them in the past, but they've always acted with public grace and moved on.

i dont blame them for being mad, canada would have won that game if it werent for the biased/dishonest refereeing. the powers that be were determined to have a whale wars rematch of last year and were going to cheat to help the u.s. at any cost. look for them to pull the same crooked stunt on thursday, the tsunami sympathy has worn off and itll make great pr to once again cast the us as victorious "good" guys on the world stage, itll go a long way toward distracting everyone from the wars/overthrows the us is conducting around the world and the financial mess the us has caused

that sounds surprisingly cheap actually. i thought seats that close would be in the (US) thousands. you look like you're in the photographer's box

They kept the tickets cheap to keep the Biebers out. They did overdedicate too many to corporate sponsors and VIPs and whatnot, but the tickets for the peons were cheapish and on a first-come, first-served basis.

Wonder what would have happened if one of the Canadian players got a red card and ejected at the 55 min mark for the headstomp??? But you are probably okay with that officiating though...

FIFA is contemplating disciplinary action against Sinclair & Tancredi for comments they made questioning the role of the American referee in the result of the soccer game yesterday. Tancredi said the referee should proudly wear her American jersey for that's who she 'played' for yesterday. Sinclair was more diplomatic but questioned the attribution of a 6-second penalty with no warning. Hope our two best players are not disqualified from playing in the bronze game...

I didn't like their comments, but I hope FIFA understands their frustration, and if they feel the need to discipline them at least allows them to play in the bronze medal game. I would think that a small fine, or a 1 game suspension to be served after the conclusion of the games would send the message just fine.

what the hell am i reading here? are people whining about soccer being to brutal? srs? soccer has become the most panzy sport around. i can hardly stand to watch mens soccer because they just flop around like fucking babies the whole time crying over fake hits and everything to just try and game the system. the women play way harder because they play like they have something to prove and it's infinitely more entertaining. I hope the ladies continue to play tough and the refs continue to allow it to slide, it makes for a far more entertaining game and makes me have loads more respect for the ladies that play the sport professionally than the men.

btw face stomps aren't that bad I remember watching the Japanese goalie last Olympics get double cleat drop kicked to the face and a card wasn't so much as raised. They won that game too like a boss.

The canadians were playing alot more physical (borderline dirty IMO) in the 1st half and barely got called on any of it...some of the canadian fans here didn't have a problem with the officiating then but now want to bitch about one call that was suspect but not without merit??

water under the bridge now anyway....

£150 each. Not cheap...

That is cheap actually for those seats to see Bolt, the greatest sprinter of all time, run....and not expensive for someone who earns six figs.

I was lucky enough to be selected in a lottery seats at the World Cup Finals in Germany--FRONT seats at that.

Fans with placards to buy seats even in the nosebleeds for minimum 800 Euros/piece.

My front seats would have commanded at least 2000 Euros without batting an eye. My row had a bunch of rich old dudes with young hotties. The money is there at such events.

And now we wuz robbed too in boxing. 14 points each and they gave the decision to the Brit even though our valiant Canuck was clearly the agressor. Home advantage I suppose.

That was a rip-off. The Brit did nothing for two rounds. He was cautioned three times for the same infraction, the third time should have been a points deduction.

Yeah I thought they'd be more tbh as well, we were really pleased when we sat down.

Where you the guy who threw the water bottle?

Nope, that was yesterday.

Liu Xiang tore his Achilles...that is awful

I know I saw him do it! But did you see that he hopped all the way down the track to congratulate the winner.

I agree, that it is a comparatively good price, and it was really cool seeing bolt run, but for an unemployed student it's not exactly a steal.
