Oh man this is what I was worried about. I felt this way about season 1 and was hoping season 2 would be better. I know it's still early for S2 but this isn't a good sign. I've held off on reading this thread because I haven't started S2 yet and didn't want to see any spoilers but your post makes me nervous about the direction of S2.For the simple reason only one episode has been released. One episode a week...
But since we are here, story line is weak, 50% - 75% of time is filled with drawn out scenes that contribute nothing to the story line, such as speeding across a desert on a land speeder. Yea, visuals are good, especially in 4K, but you want to start looking for things to do on your phone until something actually happens. 45 minutes that could be recapped in two sentences.
Guess I'm spoiled after watching stuff like Break Bad, El Camino, Better Call Saul, where you can't even duck into the kitchen without missing something critical.

Perhaps but Star Wars: The Clone Wars didn't leave me with the same feelings and it was geared toward kids as well. IDK like I already said it's early in the season and hell to be honest it's early for the series as a whole. Season 2 could be awesome and really turn this just ok series into a great one. I hope it does because after the lameness of the last few movies I could really use some awesome SW action. hahaThe unfortunate truth is that this is a show aimed at kids, not adults. Imagine if the director for John Wick had been given the reins of the Mandalorian!
The visuals are fantastic, the music is good, the story is fun but simplistic. It almost feels like Trigun, only slower & without the comedy aspect. Still, I will be watching it every week because this is the way!

Just getting on season 2 and it's apparent this show is more geared towards kids, as mentioned above, and selling merchandise and theme park experiences and free happy toy meals, not to the folks that grew up on star wars and want an adult version of it.
