That clippy, while annoying as the original, actually seemed to have some relevant suggestions, making it completely unbelievable.

The only thing entertaining about that entire video is Clippy. It's like a beacon of funny in a sea of tarded.

Pretty neat, but a blue screen joke? Really?

I don't like BSOD jokes, there's nothing funny about BSOD's. My Vista BSOD'ed 4 times today from a Network card driver and there's NO SOLUTION FOR IT! That scene hit too close to home to be funny to me.

Sad that my Vista box crashes more than my Win 98 box dod, yeah Microsoft!!

Actually there is a solution, just not one you probably like. Buy a different network card!

Actually there is another solution but probably one that you will like. Dump Vista.

Why spend more money on a perfectly functional OS when you can spend less money and replace a defective piece of hardware?

If its having a problem with the hardware then maybe its really not perfectly functional.

If it's having a problem with the hardware then maybe the problem is with the driver and not the OS. Or perhaps the operator should just stick to 98SE.

Funny, I haven't seen a BSOD since WinME. Running both XP Pro and Vista Ultimate right now, smooth as butter w/ zero problems.

Legacy hardware or possibly a legacy driver. If you are in a situation like that and you choose to go backwards on the OS then congrats you are backing yourself into a corner later on. Because eventually the driver support for that product will dry up and you will be forced to move forward again making twice as much work. That makes sense if it's like a 500 dollar card, but a 20 dollar NIC? Yea...

The premise was good, but not executed very well IMO. Nothing struck me as terribly funny save for maybe the error report line. 5/10.

"Computer Boy" is still my favorite Matrix spoof.

Sorry that I expect Vista to work with my MB's built in network card, I've tried the MS driver and the updated Realtek one, neither work. It's cool though, I'm typically on my DOS box anyways. Which oddly enough only crashed on me once in my life and that was when a HD died on me.

Spend 20$ on a network card that works? I would say buy one made in the last 8 years, but you would probably insist it was only a week old.

If you have something really unique that isn't vista compatible then feel free to complain, but there really is no excuse to use a network card that isn't working.

I don't think I have seen a BSOD since windows 98, but maybe It's just me not running hardware made before even XP was on the horizon.

Edit: I'm always late to the party

The NIC isn't old, the MB's a p35 chipset and by all accounts should work flawlessly with Vista. Seeing how millions of people have p35 MB's with the same onboard NIC . Yes I could go by a $20 PCI NIC card and fix the problem, but the problem isn't my computer. My XP (same box) never BSOD's from the NIC. My Vista, sometimes 2-3 times a day. There's NO old hardware in this box, and since XP gives me zero problems, I have to go with "Vista sucks" it might be good for a lot of people. But, I can see why so many people bitch about it.

Hang on a second. So millions of Vista users are having no problem with this NIC. You are having a BSOD. And it's Vista's fault? PEBKAC perhaps?

Now what does that have to do with Vista? It sounds like you have a bad driver.... which would be the fault of the manufacturer of the NIC, not Vista.

ROFL what? Millions of people have no problems with the NIC + Vista, but you do so it's automatically Vista's fault.

Where did I say millions of users aren't having problems?? I said millions of people have the same chipset. I have chatted with about 30 people personally who have the same NDIS.SYS BSOD in Vista with a P35 MB. And I would gather there are plenty more, but they just don't know enough to be able to analyze the minidump to find out what's causing the problem.

if 1% of the people are having crashes that's still too many seeing how the hardware is NEW and Vista should support new hardware properly. I could guess that it's higher than 1%, no it's not a majority or even 10% or maybe even 5% but it's enough to where it should be looked into. I *COULD* place the blame on Realtek but since MS wrote their own drivers, or at least included some default ones with Vista, it's MS's fault. My box is a clean build and XP runs without a single hiccup. Vista I can't say that for. Can't really be user error since nothing is OC'ed, and everything tests ok on it's own.

Some people just see what they WANT to see. He said he had XP on the same box with no error. Yeah, I'd probably blame Vista too if another OS worked.

I've had the same problems with Vista only with a video card and external monitor support. Worked fine in XP. SP1 came out for Vista and I tried it again. Same result in Vista.

Sure, blame the hardware. ANYTHING but Vista, right?
