I was going to post this.

I can't think of a better scene that shows the "No. This fucker has to die" do-or-die situation.

He holds on and is probably gettin it to the bone, pulls off a one hand cut that any feudal samurai would be proud of. Exactly the kind of tenacity one develops from having to crawl up a bloated cows decomposing ass.
Roth gets props for that movie though, perfect as Archie.

Aliens fight scene Ripley vs. Queen is up there though, no argument there.

I liked the beginning of Troy where Achilles just runs at this nasty mountain of a man, drops him with one blow while keeping his stare on the mass of troops ahead of him.

OP...I saw the thread title...a few seconds thought...and that EXACT scene was what I was thinking of. For pure badass character and badass reveal and badass fight.

Now the close cousin to badass scene is the goosebumps from awesomeness scene.

Star Wars trench run.
SDF-1 lifting off for one final shot against Khyron.
Despite my hatred of the prequels, the Darth Maul/Qui Gon/Obi Wan duel near the end of Episode 1.

A good number of Clint's movies have some good badassery, but that is more due to him being an example of pure testosterone laced badassness.

Also..."I'm not left-handed either."

Oh yeah...A world of cardboard.

I'm trying to think of scenes where I jumped out of my seat going "fuck yeah" vs scenes where the music/score made it badass. There's a huge difference.

Yeah...there's a fine line between the two, music/score & overall "triumphant" things ensuing or just Ripley coming out in a loader and telling the Queen to get stuffed.

Not the most badass, but I just saw this playing at a friends house not long ago and it made me think of this thread. Deserves a mention.

Lock Stock And 2 Smoking Barrels: Big Chris' entrance scene to the film. Just the way they did it, walking down the hall with James Brown playing... At that point you haven't seen him do anything nasty, but you can tell immediately, emphatically, that this is not someone with which to fuck!


And then at the end, if any doubts to his badass credentials exist, they're done when he takes out the drug fueled homicidal psychopath Dog, with gusto, for threatening to kill his son and heir, Little Chris.

it's over! it's over! rraagghhrrrrnnaaaahhhh!! *rip* *smash* *splatter*


Also: Rory Breaker lighting a guy on fire so he can watch his footer in peace.

Edit: I'm ashamed that I forgot about Watchmen! Kudos Fayd, best line of the movie IMO! I like how he questions that guy in the bar, broken glass is a great motivator.
