Well its really man-jewelry. You do it because you like the looks and have an appreciation for precision mechanical devices. Quartz watches are better actual timepieces.

I paid something like $60 shipped for a Seiko 7S26-based dressy automatic. It was gaining about half a minute a day (which is perfectly acceptable for a non-chronometer-grade automatic, even an expensive one). After an appointment with my watchmaker, it's now +10s on average. And 7S26 is the movement they use on the more expensive diver watches.

*shrug* just about every place I've been with current model seikos start around $100. I know the replica watches don't normally get okay movements until around those prices. (and that assumes you're not getting horribly ripped off)

Just saying don't expect a $20 knock off mechanical watch to keep good time or last you. (fwiw 30s a day is pretty bad. Under 10s a day is more normal for a non-COSC chrometer watch in good repair.) There are actually some pretty good chinese mechanical watches out there, but they are much more money. I own several with copies of a ETA 7750 movements that are pretty good.

Digital Precision Scale (20g Max / 0.001g Resolution)

That costs ~$23 shipped. This scale used to sell in past years for $200+ (not necessarily the same brand, but the same precision) and were I to order it here in America...I'm sure that the postage would be greater than the $23 they charge total. (Including shipping)

Just Wow!

Sweet. In for one. Great for weighing my herbs and powders.

Great for herbs, but weighing powders has been been found to be detramental to ones health.
Just sayin...

This was taken from the company who makes watches under the IK brand and a few others, main link to the entire thing is in the op:

To ensure top quality,we choose fine material and Swiss movements,Japan movements for higher product, and with strictly QC. We use import waterproof testing device to ensure SATM water resistance of our product before shipment. With all of this,we obtained well reputation with all our customers in Europe,America,Asia,Mideast,HK and China Mainland, etc.

Now I been all over google, all over yahoo, and ebay, and even youtube, btw sweet ass ghost watch they make, and I have yet to find anything bad at all about the IK brand, or the watches themself, and I been searching since I made this thread. But so far again I have not found anyone say anything bad about these watches, but in youtube found a few people chime in and say how much they have liked their watch. I havent gotten mine yet, but Im not expecting a $1K watch, but a $20 one. And me personally, I could never wear a watch that has cost me even over $30, I dont see how anything that costs over $30 can tell me better time then my cheap $5-$20, and the ONLY reason I even spent $20 on this watch, I usually buy $11.99 walmart ones, nd I have a drawer full of these that have been going on for over 7 years without even a battery change, but only reason I spent $20 is I have never seen anything like this, skeleton form, and like the self winding, I had to own it, and spent the whopping $20 on my watch.

If a $1k watch, or even a $100 watch would tell me the time and give me a BJ on the hour every hour, then hell yes, I be spending more, but I rather get 500 cool looking $20 watches, then one $1000 one I have to worry about anytime I wear it.

Guys, my advice - stop buying crap, save up a few thousand and buy yourself a real watch.

Haha, look chief, I like (and own) nice watches, but your statement is about the dumbest thing I've ever heard. But really, thank you for your advice.

Nobody's buying this $20 watch for image and posterity, they're buying it because it is a decent looking watch at a low price.

Save a few thousand and buy a real watch. Ok champ, but these are two different types of purchases we're talking about. Maybe if you had said a couple hundred, that would be reasonable in the context of this thread -- lower priced watches. A few thousand? You're in the wrong thread. This is for people who want a $20 watch that looks decent, and will take a chance on it breaking.

Which leads me to conclude that you were merely trying to be condescending. Take it elsewhere, or keep posting, and I'll keep patronizing you, sport.

Buying a expensive good watch is not something to take likely. For those kinds of purchase if you don't know what you're buying then you shouldn't be buying one unless you're filthy rich. As someone already stated these thousand dollar and even hundred thousand dollar watches are amazing pieces of design and quality. Test and QA is strictly followed for each and every single watch. If you're going for the "pure" look my advice to to get a "fake" brand name one and be happy with it.

overstock does have some good watches for cheap often. Check there if you want a reliable watch I regularly check it myself just to see the styles, although most are old and not to my taste. Happy watch hunting, it's pretty fun...although expensive

Having bought a few times from dealextreme, I would also add to the warnings. With these guys you get what you pay for. I've come to realize that everything I got from them was simply junk not worth having. For example, I bought a number of 9 LED flashlights from them. Half did not work and the half that did were not very bright. I bought an ipod cover that ended up scratching the back of my nano worse than not having it. It may seem ridiculously cheap, but there is a reason for it. You've been warned.

And if you want to return it they will require a jpg of the product to initiate an RMA and they possibly will ask you to submit to them a link to a YouTube video of the problem that you have, as they did to me. :Q I am not kidding. See my posts in this MP3 player thread

Most digital still cameras have vga/qvga video capabilities. Can't you take a video with that and upload to YT?

My fossil watch I got for my 12th birthday is still running strong 10 years later. I've only had to change the battery twice. Not sure how much it cost, but I'd doubt any of these ones would last a third of the time my fossil has.

You don't think that it's a little far-fetched that a company needs a video of the MP3 player playing in my car, I then have to upload it to my computer, make a video from it, and then create a YouTube account, upload the video to youtube and them send them a link to it? WTF? Sorry but that is way too unreasonable to expect that a customer would have to do that to get a replacement.

I said it doesn't work and I am willing to pay the 4.50 to ship it back to Hong Kong for replacement. These guys are telling me they don't believe me. Actually it's probably part of their business model. Make and sell cheap junk that people won't actually bother to return.
To the ones that actually do try to get a replacement, we will make them jump through so many hoops they will give up. They a screwing with the wrong guy.

I apologize if this comes off as a thread hijack funboy6942 but it does have to do with this company so I thought I would clarify their "RMA requirement" that is not posted anywhere on their website.

No, no offense, actually what I see them doing is asking for the video showing the problem, so that they dont make you return it possibly, or be wasting their time shipping it all the way back to Hon Kong because you had a change of heart on their $50 radio (no idea what you paid). I have had 2 ebay people ask me to do it, once I did they told me just throw the speaker away, and they sent me a new one, and the other one was for my projector screen that after I shower them, just had me return a small part off the entire unit rather then send the whole thing in.

Id be happy if they asked for a video, it really doesnt take long, or it doesnt for me, and have them tell me pitch it because I wouldnt pitch it and keep the broken unit as a spare. But I can see why with prices that low to keep the ones who just decide they rather ship it back and get their $3 back, require a video showing it being defective before having it sent back and nothing be wrong just because.

Thats my 2 cents on the video making for it sounds af if they are they are trying to save you the money to send back to hong kong which was prolly more then you paid for the radio to begin with.

I just noticed that there are no hands on the chronograph! Seriously, it's just garbage. I would not be surprised if it broke within a few weeks or even if it turned your wrist green.

Seriously, this may sound harsh, but if some Chinese are willing to put poisonous chemicals into baby milk so that they could save a few bucks, then anything is possible.

Meritline is one of the largest national consumable media manufacturers and distributors today. Since I am a videographer I produce DVDs for my customers and I order from Meritline sometimes. My last case of 100 DVD boxes had six cracked ones in it. Rather than take my word for it, Meritline made me send them a photo of the cracked boxes. Each box is only 26 cents, yet they still made me send them a photo before they would replace them. It's an American company too located in City of Industry, California. It's President is Michael A Diz.

Yeah, but it's still rediculous that you have to do that, and the camera video still might not pick up the "clicking" sound.
