This is a watershed election. I just don't see how US fully recovers from electing Trump, especially internationally. It's like Philippines electing Duterte. Or Brits voting for Brexit and then having no clue about what to do with it. Or Russians worshiping Putin while he destroys their country. Or Turkey doing same thing with Erdogan. How do you take them seriously after that?
A lot of US soft power around the world is based on the idea that US has figured it out and is a democratic and economic model to emulate. A Trump presidency would announce to the world, nope, we are just a bunch of morons whose luck has ran out. US will be treated as a petulant child as opposed to the leader of the modern world. There is a reason that international players opposed to current US centric world order support Trump.

Why must a narcissist not be President?
At all costs?

The line you reference tries to explain, but it really does not.

I don't know, maybe another narcissist doesn't get it, but here is the explanation: An individual totally concerned with only themselves and their image in response to their decisions is wholly unqualified for a position where their decisions impact the lives of all.

What record does Clinton have of adopting policies that could hurt her public image? She was more than happy to flop on gay marriage when the majority of the country turned in favor of it. She didn't enact any particularly controversial or major bills during her run as a senator. Many politicians are narcissistic; the ones that aren't are usually unsuccessful ideologues (e.g. Sanders and Paul).

I'm sure all those countries that have committed the great crime of electing people you don't like are really upset that you can't take them seriously anymore.

Putting people back to work, except for those Americans currently working in Toyota, Honda, etc factories located here.

We put people to work building microwaves, TVs, computer processors, smart phones, ford small cars, ,,,,.

If trump ends free trade the US can expect an economic boom as companies are forced to build factories here.

We recover by ending free trade, bringing our factories back and putting people to work
Silicon Valley here, factories may come back, but not with many people, except maybe engineers designing the robots, aka liberal coastal elites. Thanks tho.

How many skilled, unemployed people do you think currently live in the USA? I don't know off the top of my head, but I'd wager it's a significantly lower number than all the fellas over in Israel and Malaysia making our processors. Enjoy your computer prices increasing several fold.

Just like Trump makes his clothing collection in the US or stocks his hotels with US made linens. You really will believe anything.

Or you wake up 8 years later, the economy still functions, the lights turn on, the world didn't end, and your realize that maybe....just maybe...that the doom and gloom scenario is just a bunch of emotion filled hyperbole?

I'm sorry, but those jobs aren't coming back. Hell, some of them barely even require people these days. By the time you get them back here (if it were even possible), they'll require even fewer people.

Lights turn on and economy "still functions." The new definition of America being "great again."
Doom and gloom is coming from Trump working class supporters, who are apparently not happy with results from voting for trickle down for 35 years.

"He might well not end the world", job qualifications for presidents these days.

apparently, having the temerity to be a first lady with a thought to meaningfully affect policy was enough of a javelin in Newt Gincrich's 18 crawls to insure that the republican base from then until her eventual death label her the devil incarnate and every single fart she makes is worthy of scorn.

Basically, being a woman in 1992 was something she should not have done according to the Newt coalition, so I'm not sure what more she could have done herself to poison her image in that section of the electorate.

were you born with this short of a range on intelligence, or was it paint chips?

holy shit--what kind of delusions must you live under to believe this "companies forced to build expensive factories" is some kind of reality?

lol--ending free trade.

NO ONE loves free trade more than Trump. If you think otherwise, you are a fucking idiot. I mean really--just god damn stupid.

Do you think she did that for the purpose of strengthening the image and role of First Ladies in general? I'd argue that she took a proactive role as First Lady because she had a strong interest in politics and a desire to continue in formal public office after Bill stepped down.

I completely agree with you on her goals there. And it was her unconscionable will for the same interest in politics and public office that so thoroughly offended the "rightful" politicians like Newt and Dick Army and Jesse Helms and their typical lanced anal wart collection of followers like Texas Hiker and John Conner and Legend Killer and such to keep her permanently affixed to that pillory built of scorn.

His campaign has two rails. Border wall and attacking outsourcing.
Maybe I could shorten that to: Security and Jobs.

Are you going to claim that one, or both, of those is a fabrication? Still doesn't matter. Trump is saying what we want to hear.

You are right about that. I recall the axiom "Actions speak louder than words." Apparently this one is forgotten by Trump supporters, otherwise they would care about what this turnip is actually going to do if given the power to turn the entire history of his actions against the US, and World economy.
