this last 6+ year, I have play and tested a lot of different SSDs, intel x25-m x25-e 520 530 (1500 pro ) S3500, and E7000(S3520). samsung 840 , 840 pro , 840 evo 850 pro, micron m500, m600, Sandisk extreme II, x400, z400s , toshiba's HG6 and so one. I buy them play test a bit and then sell most of them on ebay. i am a geek what can i do . at this moment the 840 pro 512, M500 960GB M600 1T , and intel 530 240GB E7000 are still with me.
the difference between them is huge but yet very small, depending on what you use it foe and how you test them. to be honest , the speed difference between them for normal people day to day use is more and more unnoticeable (SATA SSD form 2013 vs SATA SSD from 2016 = fast). power efficiency is more of what i care about at this moment.
since I have rebuilded my old 2010 macbook pro to a 2012 macbook pro, I would like to put in a SSD with decent ,even little slow in speed , but max power efficiency.
toshiba HG6 was very power efficiency, but only if you don't fill it up. sandisk Z400s is also very efficient if not the most efficient, but the speed is too low, very high latency. I have missed the BX100, I did not trust silicon motion , which I would like to get my hands on it at this moment, cannot find them any more even on ebay in europe. I found a Samsung 871 Msata ssd not as fast as the Evos, ( although, Random read performance is very good )but very very power efficient , I made a External Msata SSD for my wife. hard to find those SSDs.
anyone has any suggestion , The most power efficient SSD ?
