I just finished watching "Live Free or Die Hard"...I've seen it before, but I still crack up at the scene toward the end with Bruce Willis jumping off the turnpike bridge onto a FLYING JET, sliding down the jet and landing without a scratch.

Just got me thinking - any other ridiculous scenes you remember, that just made you say, "come on! I know it's Hollywood but that's STILL ridiculous!".

i dunno man, bruce looked pretty messed up by the end of that movie.

What about him ran that sedan up the little toll booth ramp at the tunnel entrance and shot that chopper down with a flying car? major face palm right there for me.

This was always my favorite part of the Die Hard series. Bruce Willis's character always did this over-blown action shit, but by the end of the movie he was always limping around and looked like he had just had the day he had. Yes, the action is over the top, but Bruce never walks away unscathed.

I thought the fact that those jets didn't even have their first test flight yet made that scene more amusing (especially since that's a F35-B (the STOVL model)).

Actually, a parody on Hollywood - Last Action Hero with Arnold. He falls into a tar pit and then cleans himself off with a single paper towel. I couldn't stop laughing at that

It's not only the movies who require a suspension of beliefs...look at most of the offerings on television. Hot female cops with toothpick arms like Trident's...there's no fucking way they could have passed the academy, let alone have enough strength to take down a bad guy...or shoot that large handgun accurately. The casting folks look for "handsome & pretty" actors, rather than actors who actually look the part. All this on top of the stupid stuff that goes on in the daily lives of the characters...Hell, most of the sitcoms and dramas might as fucking-well be cartoons for the amount of reality used...

The NES game had a "foot meter" for the damage he did to his feet in the first movie:

We watched "Man on Fire" yesterday again....and there is this famous scene with the guy in the car. (Where he cuts his fingers etc..) **WATCH THAT MOVIE...AWESOME**

Anyway...a little later he shoots him, bad guy is still tied to steering wheel. He starts the car with the dead guy in it, cars falls down cliff and EXPLODES in a huge fire ball. (Here i always ask..why the fvck are cars EXPLODING upon impact?)

But...a few scenes later you can see a tow truck where they tow that crashed car away from the scene.
(I did not look closely and was too lazy to play back that scene.)

But i could've sworn they had the car on the truck WHILE IT WAS STILL BURNING and flames shooting out the window.

***

Otherwise i agree, the plot in ID4 with the virus "uploaded" to the UFO...lol...

I'm pretty sure that Creasey filled the car with accelerants.

Well, they tried to make this movie somewhat unbelievable, just for the fun of it.......but do you remember a movie by the name of True Lies??

Same deal, only terrorist jumps onto a moving Harrier, and can not only keep his balance while it's moving, but successfully negotiates his way from the tail to the cockpit, before being flipped off the wing, only to find himself hanging on a heat seeking missile......which AHnold then uses to shoot down the helicopter full of terrorists.

Yeah, no disbelief there!!

Just watched it again a few weeks ago and I thought of that scene too. Plus the whole "he knows how to fly a Harrier" part is pretty much bull.

Newer movie, just watched Taken (Liam Neeson movie) yesterday, and I was like...does Paris have no cops? At all? They have a couple airport guys, then the corrupt dudes working with the spy guy, and that's it. None of his shooting and driving like a maniac all over the city gets any attention.

Blues Brothers when the car full of Illinois Nazis runs off the end of the overpass and falls for 30 seconds.

I think they had to film it in a warmer climate than Chicago because they don't build overpasses like that up there due to freezing. Not to mention it fell for 30 seconds.

...and the Blues Brothers car flipping way high over the pursuing Nazi cars, landing on its' wheels, then driving away just before the Nazis drive over the edge was completely believable?

as pointed out by Mr. Plinkett, the child sized goggles and helmet used by anikan in the phantom menace when he piloted the star fighter was a huge wtf...

I didn't say that, just between the two scenes the one I listed was more painful.

not the most ridiculous, but in the dark knight when batman jumps out of the building to save rachel and doesn't deploy his cape the entire way down.
