the movie 'Jumper'....quck question

Not trying to be too critical (i know its just a movie). Liked it but....

I wondered "why aren't the jumpers packing heat? or even paladins for that matter?"

If you could transport anywhere and had an organization that wanted to kill you, couldn't you shoot them and dump their body to the middle of the ocean? don't have to worry about getting busted with holding a firearm when you can disappear.

on the paladin side, why bother with stunning and stabbing the jumpers when you could just put a bullet in them? Its kinda hard to transport when youre dead.

yip. my teen said it was great and asked me why i thought it sucked. i told her by pointing out how stupid the story line is and she looked liked i popped her balloon. then she said yea you are right dad it did suck.

Is this a trick question? Obviously death. The chafed would drive me to suicide anyway so its not like these are different options.

I hate it when they fail to address simple plot holes like this. Same with the Blade movies. Look guys, like a hundred of you just died from getting staked in the heart, you might want to start wearing some body armor... just a thought.

You do realize you could fill it full of vaseline first? Kinda like that guy with the glove in Of Mice and Men, only for your whole body. Actually that would've made a lot of sense for the movie, with Darth Douche all smug and shit.
