Biggest moves this offseason:

Vince Carter is in Orlando.
Shaq in Cleveland
Artest goes to LA
Ariza in Houston
Hedo goes to Toronto (???)
Jefferson hits up San Antonio
'Sheed joins the Celtics

Lotta movement. I'm pretty sure that with the Artest move (and resigning Lamar) the Lakers are going back to the finals. I don't doubt that at all. They've still got all the pieces they had last year, save for Ariza, whose loss gets offset somewhat by Artest.

In the East, I think Shaq might bring Cleveland down a bit, even though they still have Varejao (who I thought they'd lose).

The Vince element in Orlando is intriguing, just because I know that (like McGrady) he can turn it on like that and make you wonder how much potential he has wasted.

'Sheed in Boston, man I hate that. I really like him as a player, mostly because he plays hard and plays honest. If it's a foul he admits it, but when it's not he gets on the refs case. If KG stays healthy I gotta believe the Celtics will get back to the Finals.

Sounds like Hinrich is going to Portland, Tyrus Thomas to Utah, and Boozer to Chicago.

I really shouldn't be in here ...

Oh, and McDyess to San Antonio is good too ... I still don't see the Celtics winning in the East, not against the Magic or Cavs.

You forget Antonio McDyess for the Spurs.

Marion to the Mavs even though the Mavs will still suck.

Oh and Turkey-Glu deal was ok'd so he is going to Toronto. Turkey-GLu is so stupid though. Going from a championship contendor to a not even going to make the playoffs team.

When the fuck did this happen? ESPN is blocked!

McDyess to San Antonio? Fizzzzuck, that makes them more of a threat. Big men to throw around are always valuable.

Yea SA needed another big man since they gave them all away for Jefferson. SA still isn't as good as the Lakers but it's just another good piece to add. With a healthy roster, I think this puts them second in the West.

Wait, what did you just say?

Laker's didn't do anything this offseason - except lose Ariza and potentially Odom.

Artest is washed up, he's a ballhog and nowhere near as good of a defender as he used to be.

Lakers still better than spurs, unless spurs get a quality center but none are left.

What they'll probably do is have Duncan at the 5 and McDyess at the 4.

Sources: Boozer could go to Chicago

Another major multiteam trade might be looming in the NBA with the Portland Trail Blazers, Utah Jazz and Chicago Bulls having discussed a deal that would be headlined by Carlos Boozer and Kirk Hinrich, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources stressed to ESPN.com that no deal was imminent Thursday and that both Portland and Utah are still evaluating multiple trade scenarios. But two sources with knowledge of the three-team proposal confirmed that there have been substantive talks regarding a trade that would land Boozer in Chicago, Hinrich in Portland and Tyrus Thomas in Utah.

A deal featuring those main components would deliver the elite low-post scorer that the Bulls have been chasing for years in Boozer and furnish Portland with a lead guard in Hinrich that the Blazers are known to rate highly as a potential backcourt mate for Brandon Roy. It's possible that other players would be added to balance out the transaction from a salary-cap perspective if the three teams elect to take these talks further.

Yet even if this deal collapses, sources say it is clear that the Jazz are becoming increasingly open to the possibility of moving Boozer now to increase their financial flexibility to re-sign restricted free agent Paul Millsap.

Despite fresh reports Thursday about the Blazers weighing whether to sign Millsap to an offer sheet, Hinrich is the player Portland prefers, according to one source close to the process, after the Blazers came so close last week to landing the versatile Hedo Turkoglu.

Boozer has only one season left at $12.7 million after declining the option in his contract to become an unrestricted free agent July 1. It's believed that the Jazz are determined to keep Millsap but are concerned about the luxury-tax consequences of signing him to a long-term deal.

I love all the deals and signings this summer. Too bad no one is getting rich with them.

I think the two teams are so close in talent, I wouldn't confidently call a 7 games series in one teams favor or another.

as a bulls fan I would love to get rid of hinrich, but I do really like tyrus thomas. can't pass up boozer though. also wish we could have sign and traded bg7 instead of just letting him go. glad hes gone though.

the cavs gave anderson a ridiculous contract. him opting out of 6.x million for next year was crazy enough. his agent said he was getting 10mil/year offers? bullllshitttttt

In crunch time, Carlos Boozer was the Dream Team's dream bench warmer. He never let chair temps drop below 98°.

i'm a lakers fan, but i'm a little disappointed in our offseason. we swapped ariza for artest, might lose odom, still have the shitty contracts of walton and vujacic, and we have no big man depth. i'm not thrilled about bynum's huge contract, he hasn't proven himself yet, he gets in foul trouble, he doesn't know how to use a F'ing drop step (or doesn't use it as much as he should), he shoots the ball too much instead of going in strong, and he hasn't really shown any signs of having any basketball IQ. kobe on the other hand, should renegotiate his contract for less money so we can resign odom, but apparently he can't afford his mortgage from the $30+ million he gets in endorsements.

this year, we got lucky that KG wasn't healthy, because the celtics would have kicked our asses in the finals again. unless we make some moves, or bynum develops into a beast in the middle, i think we're looking at a spurs vs celtics final.

Celtics won't see the finals again for quite a while.

I just don't understand the love for Ariza. Yes he had a great offseason but that's about it. He hasn't proven himself at anything. Artest has proven himself. I'd rather go for the proven guy then someone who you don't know how good he is. Yes he can get better but Kobe doesn't have that much time left. Kobe is getting old and the Lakers need to get as many championships as they can before he gets older. Getting Artest was a great move.

This.

Artest can get points. Not that we need any, but on those nights where our defense disappears (and there have been many nights like that), an extra 15 points will be awesome.

I agree with San Antonio making some good moves, but I don't know about second in the west. Denver will have had an off season to mesh more with Chauncey, they're young, athletic......I'll have an eye on them for sure.

At his current salary, Turkey-glue is way overpaid/overrated. That guy was a product of that system, having D12 in the paint to draw double teams. No way in hell he'll continue his success in Toronto. I think we're going to see the Turkey-glue of old from his Sacramento/San Antonio days next year.

I just wonder if the Warriors are still trying to get Amare. I hope not. Last thing the Warriors need is an overpaid, oft injured, locker room cancer like Stoudemire. Especially one with an aversion to playing center. I'll take Bean's nightly double-double over Stoudemire's few extra points any day. It's not like the Warriors need more scorers.

How good will Curry be in Nelson's small ball system? They already got Ellis in the back court. Double SG? There was rumor of Warriors getting Stoudemire around draft time, but I guess Suns wanted Warriors to throw in Curry and Warriors told them to fuck off. Would've been an exciting lineup.
