Final Update (11/04/06): Official launch of the much anticipated NV's next generation GPU, G80, is only a few days ahead. For the past few days we had DailyTech's sneak performance preview as well as end-users' pictures/benchmarks leaked. Lots of stuff have been leaked since the day I started this thread and I consider this has been a very successful thread with lots of information! Perhaps NV had the hardest time in recent years to keep the secret about G80 off the various leakers. Thank you for everyone who participated and exchanged the information!
This thread was meant to be a 'speculation' thread from the beginning so today's update is the last one as far as this initial post is concerned. Not only that we all know most of the facts regarding G80 by now (at least from consumers' point of view), but also it's time for our professional reviewers to do their jobs.

Lots of pictures and benchmarks from a user who acquired a Leadtek PX8800 GTX. Again, I can't believe how *long* this card is!

With the previous thread regarding NV's upcoming DX10 GPU, G80, becoming a ~400 posts monster, I felt the need to start a new thread with some of the knowledge we have learned over the past few weeks. I hope this thread will help folks looking for information on G80, and also hope it to remain on topic. (Please keep the ATI vs NV thread in the old G80 thread! )
This first post heavily owes the following discussions, as well as aforementioned 'old' G80 thread in this forum.

Additionally, the following traits are rumoured to be attributed to G80:

Important Update (10/23/06): What looks to be ASUS' retail box cover of upcoming GeForce 8800 GTX has been leaked via a chinese site here. This more or less confirms/summarizes the specifications of 8800 GTXs, or G80, that have been leaked for the past weeks. Interestingly, the leak suggests the price of 8800 GTX to be 540 USD and that of 8800 GTS to be 410 USD. The price information can be significant in that it can be the yardstick of relative performance. Below is the full quote of the box cover. (Thank you, Creig & nitromullet)
Quick Update (10/24/06): There is a review out there now, but I am not sure if these people actually have the cards in their hands.

Update (10/26/06): Latest 3DMark scores revealed!
Update (10/29/06): See below (Credit goes to Gstanfor as well as Triniboy @B3D)
It is fairly obvious that WUAF is something about Anisotrophic Filtering. German translation is reported to be 'Angle-Independent Anisotrophic Filtering'. With the criticism regarding NV40/G70's agressive optimization going out of control, it's been expected that NV will attempt to rectify the situation with its brand new GPU. How good their implementation will turn out remains to be seen. Also revealed is the little chip next to the G80's gigantic - let's just say NV's latest assualt on common sense - IHS will take care of various I/O related to video. There is a wild suspicion that it'll finally add multi-monitor support to SLI.
Critical Update (11/02/06): With the launch date coming in less than a week, Inquirer has organized the rumors/leaks that have been known to date as well as some of the new information. I will update this post as the information gets confirmed, but for now the following links will do.

Additionally, the following traits are rumoured to be attributed to G80:
- 8800GTX w/ optional water-air hybrid cooling
3DMark06 score of single card 12K~16K
The cards most likely to be launched at GeForce LAN (Nov. 7-8, 2006)
Launch of NV's new MCP, NF680i and NF650i, will accompany the G80 debut -> Picture of an NF680i Board

NV's new physics engine, dubbed "Quantum Physics" to have a dedicated portion on G80 sillicon
Early sample of 8800GTX measures to 11", or 275mm, and 8800GTS to 9", or 225mm: Considering these lengths are not practical on a standard ATX board (9.6"x12"), they'll likely to change. (Thanks Cookie Monster)
Support for X16 AA on single-GPU as well as a brand-new Anti-Aliasing method "VCAA"
Mainstream parts (G83?) to arrive Spring 2007[/b]
