I would rename this to "Why Insecure 19 Yr Old Fatties Love Average-Looking Men's Bodies".

We had the insecurity of feminism trumpeting the beauty of fat women and now they are trumpeting the beauty of man tits, laziness, and lack of self control. The only problem with this is that biology still statistically dictates that young women will get more excited if Ryan Gosling courted them instead of Seth Rogan. Nobody is buying that "Dad Bod" is sexier except the bitter 19 yr old author who got dumped by a gym rat.

Nope. Feminists seem to be upset that young women might be lightening up on male body-image standards, since they've been trying to push through ridiculous ideas like "thin privilege" and "fat shaming", to little success. Some have thrown jealous hissy fits over this... and say it's sexist.

I don't really care or read much about feminism, but I would assume they'd want their men to be all doughie and weak, therefore making them feel and appear stronger, since they seem to be all about those wimmenz rightz and all.

Either way, Dadbod is just an excuse by people to justify their unattractive bodies.

I can understand how some guys with rock hard bodies can be obnoxious and self-centered. I can also understand how hard bodies are not a top priority for woman as they are for men (ask any woman and they will tell you that your ability to make them laugh is equivalent to their ability to catch your eye). But bottom line is that these ideas are rooted in the woman's insecurity, and as they get older, that insecurity tends to fade away.

I'm not sure what kind of man a feminist would prefer, since mainstream feminists just seem so anti-male, that it seems their goal is to not have a man in their life at all. However, only a douchey and weak guy would ever tolerate a feminist woman.

I don't think the Dadbod thing has anything to do with feminism though. It just has to do with fat, lazy, western women, wanting to be with larger men that aren't that cut, so that they don't feel worse about their state of fitness. This has been a thing for a while, actually... it's just been called different things. In the UK, for example the physique of a "bloke" can often refer to the same bodytype that Dadbod does. I distinctly remember a woman from that region telling me that she preferred "big ol' blokes" that she'll look little standing next to, since it makes her feel more feminine.

From my personal experience, quality women seem the most attracted to me when I'm in shape, and I don't give a damn what the pudgie ones want, so the whole Dadbod thing is unlikely to effect me in any way. So it's whatever.

I've talked to women out at bars about this topic recently. A few said that the Dadbod is "cute" and it makes the guys seem "less threatening" and they will likely be "more caring and loyal".

It's all just cognitive dissonance BS though. Women are hardwired to desire the alpha. They can try to tell themselves they want a Dadbod guy, but their little lizard brain says otherwise. It's like women always complaining about "jerks" and "asshole guys", yet these types of men seem to be getting infinitely more ass than timid "nice guys". Of course, that's if one's goal is to just acquire notches on the belt.

Agree, (bolded) those are all things that women do not desire yet say they do. Aside from the loyalty part, but only if they're a badass and desirable from the outset. Which dadbods are not.

Since I've been off the market for a while, this doesn't really affect me directly. It does sound like the same line of thinking as "fat acceptance" which is a horrible precedence for health in our society. All I know is that I will be eating well and exercising for as long as I physically am able to because it allows me to enjoy so much more out of life.
