Ahhh my current printer lust..... Swore I wouldn't buy it until it was under 100.00 .... Best I've seen for this photo powerhouse is 149.99 after 50 MIR plus another $50.00 giftcard from Compusa.....

There is some debate bout that..... From my point of view the 780 has edge to edge printing, higher dpi.....

the 870 is an "older generation" it's replacement appears to be the 890.

after looking at the features, and specifications, beats me which is better, the 780 or 870... ;-) i mean with the same generation of inkjet printers, the only difference is ppm, and the 780 and 870 being from different generations, they have the same "rated" ppm in photo according to epson.

i'm going to get the 780 =)...

uh, oh, i just noticed something after my initial reply (like a second later)... the 780 is rated 47 dBA, and the 870 is rated 38dBA, which means it's MUCH louder than the 870 =(

oh of course the 870 and 780 have different software bundles ...

i'm going to check out the printer, if i like it since compusa has the 10% off, i'm going to see about some extra cartridges, and specialty paper =)

A bit OT here ........... Does anyone know a good source of cheap glossy paper? Now that I have my new Canon digital elph (from the 150.00 MCI deal thank you very much!) I been taking a lot more pictures this year....

I recently got 2 25 packs Office Depot Labeled HI-RES Glossy for $ 12 . I've seen 50 packs on eb@y for 5.99....

I have heard that paper supply houses have it for a fraction of what we pay for it at the office superstores..

This isn't really $99 for the printer. A $50 GC isn't the same as $50 and tax applies to the GC.

It's $149 + tax on $249 for the printer and a $50 GC. Then there's that first class stamp for the rebate.

I dont get it it says it's 149.99 after the 50 dollar mir. I dont get what is going on. It shows 199 dollars at the website and 149 after a mir. So you pay 199 for it plus tax and than you get a 50 dollar gc and than you get a 50 dollar mir?

OK now I'm confused.... Why is it 249? The AD says 199.99 - 50 MIR so 199.99 tax - 50 MIR =149? Right and then you can use the 50 Giftcard for something ??? Perhaps another 780 then fleabay it....
