Umm wrong! Golf is a game of skill not luck. I do agree with you that it doesn't take athletic ability and I'd lump it in there with bowling and auto racing as far as "sports" go.

It's an atheletic event the way I play. You take 200+ swings in three hours and tell me how you feel when you're done.

There are lots of fat golfers that are good Jim Daily comes to mind. Just because your fat doesn't mean you can't swing a club. I just think anytime you can play a "sport" at a professional level when you are out of shape (golf, bowling, racing, lawn darts) it might not necessarily be a real sport. It doesn't mean I begrudge other people who enjoy watching overweight guys out swinging metal clubs or driving cars.

Okay, fat people playing a game means it's not a real sport in your tiny little mind? Guess football isn't a sport, ever seen the size of those linemen? Baseball is right out, David Wells is a big tub of goo. Basketball isn't a sport either, Charles Barkley was rounder than the ball itself. Swimming isn't a sport, fat people float. Ummm, what's left? Gymnastics? Yep, that works. By your definition gymnastics seems to be the only real sport.

I probably do but wouldnt know. I played golf once for just a little bit and had absolutely no interest in continuing it. It was boring and frustrating. Might as well go stick a hot needle in my eye for all the enjoyment i got out of it.

I stand by my original post. Golf is not a sport. Its a game of luck and skill.

Fat linemen still have to hold off other fat linemen which takes some degree of athletic ability. When you have 12 yr old golf phenoms playing in the same league as 50 year old men, that is not athletic ability in the game of golf. That is a skill which I probably do not posess, but still does not make it a sport in my mind.
