I have built a couple of the 8KHA+'s, Great boards but the last one had a little problem about rebooting, To get it to reboot you had to hit the reset every time other than that it ran great, I tried everything so the other day I went in and disabled both serial ports and now everytime I hit reboot it works fine and the one I built the computer for has no need for a serial port so all worked out,

Just went to a local show, purchased the Epox 8kha+ mb, xp1700, 128ddr, installed it, using an Inwin case, 300W PS, 30 gig hd, cd and a cd/rw, old video card (for now), used the onboard sound, W/98se and it booted up right away. No problem with the 300W PS.

Enjoy your day,
Raymond

Got my second Epox 8KHA+ system up and running. The more I use this board the more I love it.

Hey, thats a good little tip. I am going to try that when I get home tonite. I don't use my serial ports at all, so I am going to disable them and see if it works. The soft boot issue is the only issue I have with the board. Being that it is housed in an SX1040B, it is a pain to have to use a pen to hit the reset button every time I need to reboot it. Thanx!

Any bad input about it?

over at amdmb I see they have a new beta bios posted dated 3/14...

<< My thanks goes out to Max{H}dcore for dropping me the note and sending in this new BETA bios from Epox. It is supposed to fix the CAS 2.5 issue as well as offer a nice increase in performance. So, head over to the Files page to grab it! >>

Well I have been running the 3/14 bios and the 4in1438 on my last build and it seem to be real stable, Man this board is so easy to work with the more of them you build the more you like them

So what's the latest on the restart issue. I have to keep my fsb below 147 to avoid the restart bug. Has a BIOS been released that fixes this? Tx.

My BIOS is dated 11/02/01. I just checked AMDmb.com. Seems like the same old story. You either need a beta BIOS (which I try to avoid due to a prior bad experience) or a final BIOS with WPCRD (or something like that). The third party app is required to get 4 way interleaving enabled above 145fsb. Since I don't want to use that third party app, I figure I'm better off at 146fsb without the restart bug, 4-way interleaving enabled, with my nice, safe final BIOS.

Yeah, I saw that 3/4 BIOS on the Epox web site. However, amdmb.com indicates that although this BIOS fixes the restart, you can't use 4-way interleave above 145fsb.

I probably will, I want to push my setup a bit further than it's at right now. Any particular fan favorites right now on the betas?

This post is like the bunny it just keeps going and going, But I did try something last week that might help, I worked on a board that had the reboot problem and after disabling the printer port and the com port it still had the reboot problem, So I upgraded it from windows me to xp and the problem went away and has worked ever since

Is Snowpunk98 still around? It would be cool to update the links in the first post to the updated info.
