Latest *stable/official* bios rel is 11/02 (november 2nd) at the Epox site.

There are lots of beta bios'es floating around, check amdmb.com forums for links. I think the most recent of them is supposed to be quite good, it really enhanced overclocking (rumoured to finally include the 1/5 pci divider!) and is also very stable. use at your own risk, of course. then again, that's what overspeccing/overclocking is all about.

My board came with 1 ATA66/100 cable, 1 ATA33 Cable and 1 Floppy Cable.

I'm setting up this board on Friday night, I just went out and purchased an Antec PP412X 400W PSU, since I don't want to deal with any power issues.

Just to throw some more info into the new "official" epox thread ...

I'm now running my 8kha+ at 9.5 X166 (gonna push the FSB higher if I can, but testing it out here for now). This is originally an XP1600, unlocked , and with the 8khal00.bin beta bios. So far so good.

I've just about had it with my EP-8KHA+. I'm gonna have to RMA it back to Newegg and get something else. Nothing but stability problems. I've tried two other AMD-approved PSU's and just about every BIOS revision I could get my hands on. Nothing gets rid of these lockups. I know a lot of people have had really good luck with these boards, but I simply haven't. I'll gladly trade a little bit of speed for something that is stable.

Been running my 8kha+ for two weeks and it is very solid. I am using an Enermax 431 watt. GeForce 3Ti 200 w/crystal orb Oc'ed to 220/500. 1 Kenwood 72x. 1 TDK 24x10x40x cdrw. 1600+/Alpha Pal 6035. IBM 75gxp(30gig). floppy, usb modem. 250 zip. usb printer. usb scanner. usb CF reader. 120mm fan. 92mm fan. 768mb crucial DDR. Neon lighting. 19" Samsung 950p. No power issues. No stability issues. Highest FSB so far was 147 stable(1543.rMhz) with the most aggresive memory settings. I really like the board so far.
I believe a quality power supply is a must. That may be some of the stability problems. I am running the L bios.

happy with mine.first non asus board i've had in awhile.mines topping out in the 155 to 157 area but think its the cpu.plan to try to unlock it and drop the multi to see what i can get the buss to.
as far as drivers im running me and the best config i found was without the 4in1's,just the agp(thank god for ghost hehe).but the agp did make quite a diff. on 3dmark.and still was perfectly stable.

Just an update on an earlier post. I got my Epox rig up and running, and works quite well except for these two issues: The friggin light on the keyboard (you know, numlock) allways stays lit, even after I power down. I'm not sure if that really matters, but I know it isn't right.

Also, UT plays like crap. The mouse lags like a bastard, and the game runs very slow and the res. is terrible. Now I didn't change anything but my MB and PS (enermax 300w), so other than that my graphics card is the same(geforce2 gts) and so is everything else. I've tried the two latest 4-in-1's (4.35 and 4.36) and I've tried the latest nvidia drivers for my OS (win98SE). I've also tried all the suggestions for this problem that are posted on the UT website to no avail.

3dmark2001 runs fantastic tho. Very odd behavior. Can't figure it out. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

BTW, mine arrived (12/05) with the U= bios.

Another update (I don't mean to clog up the thread, but I hate people that post a prob. and then don't update ) . But anyhow, I install the 21.83 detonator drivers instead of their new ones, now everything is running great!! Maybe those new drivers had an issue with the MB, maybe not. I dunno.

The keyboard is still lit(numlock) even though the computer is off. Anyone else having this prob?

Two guesses:

I'd guess the reason your keyboard light is on, is because of the "soft power on" feature - you can power your computer on by hitting a combo of keys (default is cntrl-F1), so of course the keyboard has to stay slightly powered to get the signal. Turn this feature off if you don't use it.

Did you reinstall your OS after swapping mobos? I'd strongly recommend it. After reinstalling XP with my 8kha+, it boots 10x faster, and performance is dramatically faster. I'm guessing your video problems will go away two - that's a standard config you have there.

I bet your right. I remember reading about that now. When i get through this 14 hour marathon workday, I'm going to play around with that. Thanks man.

For my soon to be 8KHA+ system I'm shopping for a quiet power supply.

The Enermax EG365P-VE(FC) needs a motherboard connection to power and control the second fan. Does the 8KHA+ have an available connector for this?

my mouse and keyboard lights always stay on also.im going to ck the bios to see if i can shut that feature off.

has anyone seen any definite reason to install the 4in1's(becides the agp) in win me or xp?i tried them twice and both times things started to act funny.ghost has definely came in handy. hahaha

I had the same problem with the key board and mouse.I had to reinstall with ACPI enabled Works fine now.
