We don't have a CENTRAL division anymore. Starting with the 2002 season this is what it should look like.

I for one could care less as long as I get to watch football.

Yup! I like the Seahawks 'coz of Holmgren. How do you think they are going to do this year?

I'm guessing that the playoff teams will shape up like so: the 4 division winners from each conference, and two wildcard teams from each conference for a total of 6 from each conference. This keeps it the same as it is now. To go to 8 teams from each conference would, to me, seem to dilute it too much.

Interesting.... my two favorite teams will have to play twice a year... Saints vs. Bucs.

Sweet...the Ravens will have no problems being division champs with this lineup. Too bad it splits up what was shaping up to be a great rivalry between Tennessee and Baltimore, however.

They should do quite nicely this year----I'll put on my flame suit and say 1st or 2nd in the division. Oakland certainly won't be near what they were. KC doesn't impress me either. Denver---I don't know what to think about them, and San Diego is, well, San Diego

Anything that gets the Bucs out of the NFC Central (NFC North?) is fine by me.

Bahhh.... This re-allignment wont hurt oakland. They are still same div as there biggest 2 rivals. All this did for oakland is get the sea hawks outa there div.

If Oakland Sucks it Wone Be Because of there Dic it will be because of Al Davis. (I hate that prick)

Cowboys are pretty much in the same division they always were. The only change is the removal of Arizona from that division, everyone else is the same there.

I know, but I would have moved the Panthers to the east and the cowboys to the south.

Why are the cowboys in the NFC "east"

Because of history and tradition and most importantly MONEY.

The rivalry between Dallas and Washington and New York is huge. No one wants to disrupt that. I am sad to see the Cardinals leave the NFC east as the Giants almost always got two wins every year from these losers.

Well, the determing factor in keeping the Cowboys in the East is the strong rivalaries that already existed there. I'm sure they wanted to keep that intact and that overrode the geographical considerations. Those rivalaries seem to be the number 1 factor with geography second.

Overall I'm quite impressed with the job done on realignment.

Strictly from a geographical standpoint, this makes almost total sense. At least a lot more than it has in quite some time. How they ever rationalized Carolina and Atlanta in the NFC West was insane. And they have kept many of the big rivalries in Dallas and Washington, SF and St Louis. And they have quite a few where new big time rivalries will brew just based on location to one another. Great moves in my opinion.

This alignment is a good move, especially for the NFC west having the western cities playing against one another. It makes a lot of sense. I can see a rivalry go on between the RAMS, Niners and Seahawks. Niners are going to kick butt this year. Last season, the offense was just outstanding with Garcia, Owens and Gardner making it to the Pro Bowl. Sure Charlie Gardner is gone but they have Hearst to take over. The only problem with the 49'ers is that they had no defense. They young secondary showed real improvment in the second half of last season and i think they will be pretty good this year. Add in draft pick Andre Carter with Dana Stubblefield and Bryant Young..... ohhh watch out! Too bad GreenBay and TampaBay aren't in the same division anymore. I always liked watching them duke it out.

Holmgren IS Overrated, but he is still one of the best coaches out there. I think as a GM/Personel guy, he is lacking. Ron Wolf really ripped Holmgren off in the Ahman Green for Fred Vinson trade. Wolf also got a good deal for Derick Mayes from Holmgren.

Holmgren has had 3 years to mold Seattle into a winner, and if they aren't at least a 2nd round of the playoffs team this year, he will get some critizism. His #1 draft picks this year had better not be busts either.

Personally, I hope Holmgren fails miserably. I'm a Packer Backer, and nothing would be better than if Mike Sherman succeeds while Mike Holmgren fails.
