Honestly, I don't know. I haven't heard reports like I did in 2004 of people trying to associate one side with gays or muslims. I think you're right that the economy has people mad at Obama whether or not its his fault, but I'm not sure him being black or people burning Qurans has anything to do with it.

1. stimulus- virtually every economist in the world supports the principle behind the stimulus package and I've not heard one who doesn't say the recession would have been worse without it. and looking at it politically, every stripe of politician proposed some sort of stimulus.
The plan is liberal in that it gives health insurance to people for free when they can't afford it. Like anything else in life, if you can't afford something, you shouldn't have it! If you can't afford to eat at McDonalds, does McDonalds just go up to you and give you free burgers? NO!2. healthcare - Obamacare is pretty similar to the Republican proposals for healthcare reform over the years, it isn't "liberal" except as a campaign tag.
3. letting Bush tax cuts for upper income expire - getting back to the tax rates of the 1990s when government deficits were under control seems rational to me. There's no evidence those rates were bad for investment, the opposite is true.

How about we cut federal spending? Why has no one even suggested cutting Federal worker pay? Lets do that instead of raising taxes.
1. I don't think all people who build roads are in unions, but even if they are, they spend their wages which is how stimulus works. And Obama's job is to get things done, not propose wildly unrealistic solutions.
2. people get free healthcare under the old system, it just is delivered in an irrational haphazard way. btw, at what age do you think children should be allowed to starve if they don't get to work ?
3. cutting spending. yes we will have to. but that isn't easy and it isn't likely we will cut government employee's wages, Obama already slowed their growth I believe. Remember, the President and Congress are functioning in the real world, not just throwing comments out on a forum or in a politcal speech.
Real world is difficult. You wanna cut soldier's pay ? what about FBI agents ? So you can keep low taxes for the 3% of top income earners ?
