i hate to break it to you, but Newport Beach is far from "incredibly diverse." When Dennis Rodman has a party, your minority population doubles. In the Bay Area, there are many (rich and poor) towns where whites are a minority. 72% would be considered practically segregated.

You may not call OC "The OC," but you do call your freeways "The XXX." "The 405." "The 5." "The 73." "The 55." Just another in a long line of unnecessary words to belch forth from southern california.

as for Orange County, the movie, I thought it was so dead-on it was scary. Orange County is a sickness. It's "Black Hole Sun" for real. It's 1 cup Pleasantville, 1 cup rabid materialism, and a pinch of poor drivers and borrowed water. It's Something Coporate when you could be listening to Thursday or Billy Joel.

You guys aren't even giving this show a chance, it's gonna be great! How can you not be interested in seeing a rich kid grow up? Learning from the mistakes of his peers while at the same time earning their respect, a totally new concept in televison. The world will be shaken to its very foundation by the concepts presented therin.
