One of the first things that Biden needs to do, I think, as Pres-elect, is start putting together a Voting-Rights Act committee, responsible for re-establishing that Act (that was egregiously tossed out by an observably ignorant activist SCOTUS), by essentially researching and gathering all cases of indefensible voter suppression over the last 6, (8?) years by GOP states and legislatures, all the cases challenged in court, and bring those from the last 2 election cycles into district courts in order to work their way back up to SCOTUS, if necessary (obviously, that might be a bad idea, so if it can be done through Congress, that would be best) ....of course if Dems get the Senate, then packing the courts ahead of shit is necessary.

Anyway, appoint Stacy Abrams to be in charge of this, ahead of her run for Governor in 2022, 23? Not sure what term length is in GA.
Dems need to take 50 in the Senate for any of this to happen. Mitch will never allow this vote

We get it - you as white people know whats best for the minorities. They are just too incompetently stupid to be able to decide for themselves. Gotta have white people to correct them.

Like has been said in the past, cultural groups aren't monolithic blocs. It's possible for a portion to seemingly vote against its own interests even as the majority votes more rationally. Heck, the classic example is the large number of low-income households that vote for Republicans despite the party waging war against... well, anyone who isn't wealthy.

So.. over/under on how long it takes before we start hearing "I never supported Trump" from the GOP clowns?

I predict the opposite. He will be a martyr to "leftist cheating" and the "cabal" and a rallying cry for at least another 2 terms.

Flooding the field with shit about a "stolen election" will rally the troops for a decade now.

Isn't it quite obvious what Trump's strategy is?

He's going to have to face criminal lawsuits after his presidency is over. So his strategy right now is to try to stir up as much chaos from his followers as possible so that he can negotiate a deal with Biden for jail pardon time. Once a deal is reached, he'll ask his followers to stop the insanity and chaos and he won't have to go to jail.

False.

The #fakevote narrative is a bell that has already been rung. The crazies are hyped for blood thinking ballots are being manufactured until Trump's "Election night win" is stolen. They want action to stop or overturn the election now. There is no going back from this level of crazy.

Yea Trumps concession speech will be: THEY STOLE IT! THE RADICAL LEFT STOLE THE ELECTION WORST THING IN HISTORY OF OUR NATION WE CANNOT LET THIS HAPPEN ITS UP TO YOU NOW TO STOP IT<cut from air>

In all honestly, I'm hoping for something outright insane. If the madcap Trump Show is being cancelled, I want something truly out-there for the finale. I don't want a 'last episode of Seinfeld'

So that’s who that is. I only know her form this gem

I'd vote for that cat for President.

Interesting take, although I disagree. In my opinion, the deplorables that only started paying attention because of Trump will return to being apathetic towards politics and the rest of the GOP will pretend they were against him.

Yes. As are millions of others.
It's disconcerting. I know some of it is economic, I watched some interviews with folks in west PA who really thought Biden would put their fracking related companies out of business and I'm sure their employees were also scared. Saw some union guys in Ohio who thought Biden's economic policies would hurt them (forgot which union). So, to be fair, I think there was enough economic angst that some just voted for Trump because they held out hope that his pro business policies would keep them more secure. The possibility of a couple of million new 'green' jobs just doesn't attract rust belt workers.

Raffensperger ordering recount in GA. Not sure how I feel about that. I think it may be a good thing, getting ahead of a Trump legal shitshow, and Biden's lead will be safe regardless.

Sure, they have angst, I just think it's unfounded.

I think his top priorities should be ending the Pandemic ..It appears as if he will be entering office in the middle of winter ... Much of the nation will be indoors keeping warm creating ideal conditions for the virus spreading
