i wanted to have a sadistic laugh and went to check trumpo's twitter. There wasn't anything funny there so i .. i made a mistake. I checked some twitters recommended by the trumpo page, you know, McNany, etc.
stuff is scary yo. When people in the government tweet visibly photoshopped videos of Biden casually saying "we put together a system of voter fraud" because obviously, if you want to commit voter fraud, you really need to go on TV and make a statement about it. Just .. insanity. America .. you have a long road ahead of you. All of this needs to change, you cannot afford to have this kind of insanity inside you house. And PLEASE, don't fall into the same mistake that Dems always do, which is, you are soooo nice with the republicans. You win, and then claim that everything's fine because you won. You've nearly had a fascist coup, the republican party tried every illegitimate, illegal manouver they could to steal this election, this is not something you can just sweep away. You cannot ignore that Fox is brainwashing people.

I can't disagree, but the big problem from my perspective is that we did NOT get the blue tsunami we needed to get this clean out the shit moment in America. We need the Senate majority to get that rolling because the crippling partisanship that's afflicted us is still here. The Democrats actually lost some of their majority in the House of Representatives, AKA congress. There's some chance, I don't know how much, that the Georgia runoffs for Senate seats will go Democratic but what I've heard is that it's not likely at all. Maybe that will change. At least Trump won't be on the ballot.

You're right of course, I can't see Biden turning a blind eye to the risk. That's a Trump rally level of apathy after all.

There are going to be parties all over the world though, some probably going on right now. People like Putin and Boris Johnson have their reasons to be glum, but oh well. The complicated part, for you, seems to be your lack of understanding that the billions you talk about has no correlation to the cost of the election for the tax payers or the counting of the ballots. Good article about the mixed impact of COVID on this election. Conventional wisdom is that Trump lost voter share because of his erratic and incompetent handling of it. But there's another side. Trump had a massive ground game that they spent over $350 million on, 2.5 million volunteers doing door to door knocking in swing states. Modelled after, of all things, Obama's 2012 campaign which they studied.

While Biden, to stay consistent on COVID, did a modest ground game, calls and mailers only. This increased republican turnout and probably hurt the down ballot races.

This IMO was a huge mistake which probably cost us the Senate and some House seats.

Fox News has by far the biggest bullhorn, but remember it was Steve Bannon from Breitbart News that augured an era of right-wing disinformation, and shepherded DJT to victory. There are tons of crazy "news" sources now, many with a substantial following, and there's no way to stuff the cat back into the bag. How the fuck do you dismantle a cult this large??

I'm not buying this argument (see 538) that the mail-in vote counting took its (expected) time, but this election wasn't particularly close. Are you fucking kidding me? Our Blue wall got pummeled, and it just narrrowly held up. The margin will be less than 1% in both WI and PA, when it was supposed to be 8 and 5. Don't get me wrong, we've avoided utter catastrophe and a win is desperately needed. Meanwhile, the Senate is almost assuredly lost for a while (some say the map in 2022 is blue-friendly, but we'll see); and no ground was made up in state legislatures either.

Obviously I'm not referring to the popular vote margin. I'm not trying to rain on everyone's parade; but think about it, DJT got more votes than anyone else ever has except for Joe Biden.
