Arizona is going to foil trumps plan to challenge the votes in other states. Biden has AZ but it’s not 100% yet and Trump needs Arizona to keep counting all of its mail in and provisional ballots to have a chance. This could take a week! It’s kind of hard to argue x state needs to stop counting whilst arguing y state should continue to count.

There’s about 400k left votes in Arizona. More than Half in Maricopa County. Almost all at this point are mail in votes with some provisional ballots.

If Biden wins he’s going to win by some Trump 2016 margins in four or five states. If Trump wins he’s going to win by the same margins he won before.
I'm trying to understand why AZ has not been called for Biden at this point.

Edit: oh and Maine. WTF is going on with Maine? And how has Collins not been shown the door by now? I know they are dealing with ranked-choice but she should not have broken 40% of the vote in a sane world.

Fox and AP have called it. Remaining uncertainty about what's still out and the split is holding some people back.

Settle down, settle down, take a breath, the a breath.
(I'm talking to myself)

I was thinking... that if Biden pulls this off and is the next president with a democratic house and a republican senate, I do believe that everyone would be quite surprised to see a republican controlled senate actually working with a president Joe Biden. After all, both Mitch and Joe are old timers and I do believe they have respect for one another unlike the case with Obama and Mitch McConnell. I'm sure that Biden and McConnell have successfully worked together before and.... I think we would see some cooperation when it comes to making law to fight the virus, for stimulus relief, I do believe Joe and Mitch could find some common ground on many issues. Remember, both of these guys, Mitch and Joe, and many other republican old timers in the senate are part of that good ole boys club. Part of that old time government establishment. So, I would not be shocked nor surprised to see both sides agree on many things and get some stuff done that Obama could never get done with McConnell. But first, Joe has to win. And remember, we still have the wicked witch of the orange flying around on his broom trying to set fire to those ballots.

With all of the reported turnout gains, I think we were all hoping for the blowout we needed. Seeing it not come to fruition is incredibly demoralizing, along with the projected unflipped Senate and losses in the House. How fucking sick is America? As sick as I said it was back when we lost in 2016. Think about it. Let's ignore the corruption for a second. The "economy" can be portrayed as anything from in the shitter to barely holding on and unemployment at what? 10%? We have a raging pandemic that millions of fence-sitters agree Trump is mishandling. Despite that, Trump is making gains in a lot of areas.
I agree that Biden not winning in a blowout, etc. sucks.

We need to remember though that ALL of this is because the people who get the most votes don’t get to control the government. If margins were exactly identical for Republicans we would be discussing a red wave.

Democrats and Republicans working together would be every bit as bad as complete Republican control at this point.

Have you seen who he has already started pointing to appoint to his cabinet?

It's all establishment plutocrats - and even some Republicans - that are happy to help keep corporate lobbyists happy. They will get along just fine.

What happened to Biden winning the popular vote by 10M? Do you think that is still possible?

The will of the people. Half of America thinks we're a-ok, and support more of it. An indictment of the system we've created.

Biden looks like he’s going to win the popular vote by more than twice what a Clinton did.

Just get a celebrity like Will Smith and be done with it.
Maybe Kamala will morph into a celebrity. I don't have a clear picture of her but she's evidently smart and witty (also comparatively young) and that gives her unlimited potential:

Arizona has been called by the AP and some other Outlets. There’s still 400,000+ votes left. More than half are from Maricopa. Most are mail in with some provisional day of.

Moscow Mitch really only supported Trumpity Dumpity to push his justice agenda. Now he has that, it's possible he'll work with Biden to restore damage done in last 4 years as long he gets assurance that SCOTUS remains hands off. And Biden would agree with this compremise.

At the moment looks like the Libertarians in Michigan may have taken enough of the vote to have decided the outcome. Are they going to end up as the scapegoats for the Republicans as the Greens were to the Democrats?

Edit - Wisconsin and Nevada, too.

It looks like Biden has it, although the margins are way closer than I would have liked.

Again, this should be an example of why not to take election night returns that seriously.
Is the senate flip proving to be a pipe dream? That disappoints me seriously.

Once Wayne comes in full Bidens lead will exceed Jo’s vote total. Biden should still net 70-100k out of Wayne County. There’s more 300k or more votes yet to be county out in Wayne County/Detroit metro area. All mail in, all overwhelmingly Biden.

Biden will get more votes for president than any candidate in the history of the country. And still struggle with the EC...seems like a good system.

Someone posted this in another thread "US is the only democracy where everyone knows who will get the most votes, but no one knows who will actually win!". That is an effed up system.
