Pretty much. As I stated above this will be a hollow victory, IF it happens. If it does it will be certainly worthwhile to see Trump and his grifter family kicked out of the WH at least, and his cult follower morons deflated for a bit. But long term, this country is fucked. But if we get the W let's just enjoy the few moments we get of Trump leaving the WH and Biden getting sworn in and then appointing a cabinet. It's all we got.
Don't forget firing Bill Barr, that would be, by far, one of my most favorite moments. That guy is a particular type of shit head.

If Pennsylvania doesn't hurry up they are going to come rushing out all excited to announce their result and find that everyone has cleared off home to bed, having had their fun with Michigan and Nevada already. They'll miss their one and only chance to be the Prom Queen centre-of-attention state.

Their legislature needs to get off its butt and allow early and absentee votes to be counted as they come in, not wait until day of the election.

Poetic justice that Trump losses, by a tiny margin, both AZ and Michigan. His attacks on the governor of Michigan and McCain will ultimately be the end of his tenure in office.

Shithead deserves it. If he respected the rule of law and abided by any level of decency, he likely would have won both those states.. He pushed and pushed and pushed and pushed to the limit and the limit pushed back just enough to vote his ass out of office.

The close to 70 million that still voted for him are disgraceful but I'm glad at least a small minority of them tired of his bullshit.

Getting rid of the cult leader doesn't get rid of the cult.

The right-wing media has created a largely leaderless conspiracy cult that, with Trump, had found a leader and glommed onto him like hungry fucking ticks.

But now that leader is going to fall. And possibly became a martyr, (or a "loser.)" Yet, I can't help but think of how Trump will fuck that up like he fucks everything else up. Without the power of the office, his cult leadership in the leaderless cult will drop and they'll go back to following Q and the pseudointellectuals and fake news sites again.
In this case it might. I do think a lot of trump's power came from his pre-existing celebrity.

The same as arnold schwarzenegger in CA. I mean if some unknown random retired bodybuilder ran for governor of CA you think he'd win? But if was the terminator he'd have a chance. There aren't that many celebrity trump's that could pull it off. Also, america has seen that act. I just don't see people getting excited about Trump 2.0 or neo trump or trump lite. I think this was a flash in the pan in american politics honestly, like when you date that coke addicted stripper and your friends keep telling you to break up with her. Sure it may be hard to break up but I doubt you'll find coke addicted stripper number 2 to date. People kinda just move on.

You know, it's these gems I'm not going to miss in a Biden presidency.

I talked to a friend today about how great the US would be if we could give Florida to cuba, alaska to canada, louisiana/mississipi/arkansas/georgia back to the french, and Texas back to Mexico. I'm sure all the crazy in those states would ratchet way down and for the better of all involved.

Trump is not the cause of the cult. He is a symptom. A culmination of decades of cult conditioning.

There WILL be another Trump. The cult will not just stop. Look at QAnonsense.

Pa election officials wanted that, but the Repub dominated legislatures refused.

Trump was the ultimate troll and Rush Limbaugh creation.

He was a once in a lifetime candidate, I don't think we'll ever see the likes of him again.

Not a chance in hell.

It looks like the conservatives here will have to brush up on election law to keep going in this thread.

I dunno.. celebrity means a lot. Just look at Tuberville in alabama. Guy is a criminal (an actual criminal who went to prison) and still won over not just Doug Jones but other GOP candidates largely because he coached football and people recognized his name. I mean people there want a football coach to make decisions about the NASA space program, covid vaccine distribution, etc etc. Heck if Michael Jordan ran for senate in NC or in illinois, he'd probably win in a landslide. Celebrity really helps in these races (unfortunately)

Meanwhile, half of Republicans are starting to abandon Trump while the other half (who ironically call themselves "Patriots") are preparing to take up arms to overthrow the Constitution on behalf of Trump.
No one could have predicted this! Oh.. wait..

If this holds...it really looks like Biden will probably be a one term President, be it because of health, age or ineffectiveness. As many of you said, you kind of get the feeling that Trumpism still "won.". Now a lot can happen in 4 years, but I can imagine Trump or his surrogates keeping the enthusiasm alive and well until 2024, priming for a serious red wave. The question is, who takes the mantle for their party and are these 4 years just the calm before the real storm?

I know the counterargument is the popular vote and exit polls indicate "Dem policies are popular," but the actual election results (especially Congress) just don't show that. I just get this sinking feeling 2024 will be an actual landslide/mandate type of election, the only question is who is going to be leading the charge for Republicans? Is a guy like Stephen Miller the natural evolution of all this???
