Surprising how many House seats Republicans appear to have picked up. Also appears the Dems have blown a chance to capture one of their best opportunities in the Senate that they're likely to see again anytime soon.
I got a number of texts from the GOP senate PAC for the Kansas race. They accused the Democrat who until the party primaried her in the state senate was a moderate Republican of wanting to take away all guns, have the feds fund abortions, and being a radical leftist who would allow mobs to rampage everywhere. Meanwhile the asshat who won is a doctor who has told women its their fault they miscarried since they shouldn't be working.

I think there will be recounts regardless of outcome. It's just going to be far too close not to in the end. I just hope we don't end up with a repeat of 2000.

I don't get how PA gets lumped in with the mid "west" when it's only buffered by the Atlantic coast by the vestigial organ that is New Jersey.
Well it’s part of the industrialized rust belt so demographically its a region that’s unified by the impact of globalization

in Wisconsin? There were 3,684,726 registered voters in Wisconsin as of Nov. 1, per the state’s own records, and currently 3,296,836 votes reported, per ABC

That is a huge 89.5 % of registered voters

Congratulations Wisconsin Voters.

Wow, Biden might just barely do it. If he holds the 3 he's leading in now, he wins!

Sheesh, talk about a 'knife edge'. Just 60,000 votes in it in Michigan and Wisconsin combined, and just 8000 in Nevada. What a weird system where it all comes down to like one town's worth of voters.

I doubt it unless it comes down to fewer than a 1000 votes in the tipping point state. Biden leads by 20K in WI. There will be a recount there but it won't change the outcome.

it's in the middle east

Culturally, it is tho

Can't say MI,WI, OH vote like PA, and PA borders New England and the Jersey shore.

As a true Westerner, I'm offended when we get lumped in with the Midwest.

Nah nah nah. Don't bring your fried cheese and Jello/celery/fruit salad dessert abominations over here.

Hatch chilies, tortillas de maiz, dank herb and craft beer or GTFO.

I thought the problem New Mexico had was getting lumped in with Mexico, not getting lumped into the Midwest.

2020 wasn’t supposed to be the year they would pick up. The map wasn’t the best, sure better than 2018. 2022 has a better map politically and geographically.

It’s not weird, its a validation of the electoral process. I would rather candidates have to fight for every vote in various localities to build a coalition, as opposed to only having to hold mega rallies in LA, Houston and NYC to win the popular vote. It’s a nuanced way to balance a complex electorate.

No, the majority of the country should never be ruled by the minority.

America will be just fine

I'm not sure you understand .... this is a turning point for the country.

I'm really starting to believe that everything I was taught about America as a kid was a complete lie and Democracy can't work because the average voter is just too stupid and short-sighted.

Worst of all I'm certain I'm not alone ... I'm white, moderate, educated and late middle-aged ... I've always loved this country and believed in our ability to overcome.

That's all changed now .... I've about had it.

I find it weird. It gives disproportionate power to a small group of people who can't make up their minds what they believe. Seems as if it only takes into account 'diversity' as it involves geographic location, not any other form of difference.

Remember, to get a majority in the House and senate Democrats need to win by landslide margins each and every election. They don’t need to win by 1% or whatever, they need to win by 6-10%.

The system is fucked and needs to be changed.

The electoral college does not encourage diversity in any way, shape, or form. Anyone taking even a cursory look at the results would know it does precisely the opposite.
