oooh while Trump refuses to concede Boris has a statement:
Still, it's regulated, organized and AFAIK funded by each individual state. And mail in voting has never been this huge. They weren't particularly prepared for it a few months ago and it wasn't expected that they'd be fully prepared. Seems they've done pretty well, all things considered.I'm educated perfectly fine, thanks.
The point is that billions are spent during these elections. They are events of incredible importance that decide who is going to be governing the country for the next years.
The idea that the US is incapable of ensuring that the counting of votes is properly staffed and funded is a nonsense.
At least show us the can label...Had these babies on ice since it became apparent PA would push biden into the white house. Nice to crack one open for breakfast
“The text of the Constitution requires federal courts to ensure that state courts do not rewrite state election laws,” Kavanaugh wrote. He was one of three current justices, including Roberts and Barrett, who worked as lawyers for Republican George W. Bush in the 2000 election fight.
Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Michigan all have Republican-controlled legislatures and Democratic governors, creating the possibility those states could send dueling slates of electors to the Electoral College in the event of a disputed election."
I mean something like this would be devastating to our democracy, hopefully it's just fan fiction. But you could see this "strategy" coming even several weeks ago...claim "fraud," shotgun approach to lawsuits, raise enough doubt in their friendly SCOTUS, etc.
Obviously not when you are trying to tie campaign money with tax payers money. quick question: Are you willing to have your taxes raised so they can staff elections to the level you believe is appropriate, because that is the only solution for them to get it funded properly to do so.I'm educated perfectly fine, thanks.

Not for 2.5 months from now. Think of the damage that can be caused in 2.5 months when there is zero leadership in those agencies. It was bad enough that we had no leadership for the past 4 years at the top, but at least the agencies still functioned under their separate leadership. That's a giant nothing burger!! The good people can be unfired.
Re: The outcome of the election.
Trumpers are poised to take voter fraud to Court and try to overturn certain State election results. Get them tossed out. They will attempt to send this election to the House of Representatives by not allowing anyone to reach 270 EC votes.
We may have to depend on the SCOTUS holding firm over the next month. Maybe even until Congress certifies the results in January.
Don't know about you, but a 6-3 SCOTUS makes me nervous.
You mean no more direct calls from Trump for special favors. Not for 2.5 months from now. Think of the damage that can be caused in 2.5 months when there is zero leadership in those agencies. This guy is Putin's Trojan horse. Sow division, doubt, make Americans doubt the integrity of their nation. Nobody could be damaging this country anywhere as much as Trump is right now. He's doing his best to grind US beneath his heel. Benedict Arnold was a saint, a choir boy next to Donald Trump. From Trump's statement reacting to news outlets projecting that Joe Biden is the next president. Never say die, apparently.
"We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over," he says.
"Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor. In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media," he said.

I've seen and had them just wasn't completely sure it was oneI take if you've never seen a yuengling?
Some folks could put a negative spin on hitting a Powerball jackpot.
Yes between now and Jan 20th is going to get ugly but would you prefer 4 more years of this buffoon?
Today is about victory and celebration ... Monday we can worry.
Yep, he certainly shot himself in the foot. All he would have had to have done was not fight back against wearing masks. I dont even think his opening up the economy would have sunk him if he had just encouraged following precautions while doing so. Of course, showing a little sympathy for all the deaths instead of minimizing them might have helped too.I can understand the anger but in a way I'm glad that Trump has mishandled Covid so badly. Had he responded with even a smidge of competency his re-election would have been a certainty. The long term damage done by another four years of a Trump presidency, especially climate inaction, certainly outweigh the short term impacts of the pandemic.

Who said anything about wanting 4 more years of the orange Donkey! You have taken the conversation out of context.
First, Republican talking heads were able to convince half the nation that "deplorables" applied to anyone voting Trump, not just people who are, literally, deplorable as Clinton presumably meant.
