I realise hardly anyone has a card yet. Mine should arrive tomorrow.
So I'll post some up if I can.

So far two sites have OC'd the GTS.

One getting 625 / 2000.

And the other 620 / 1814 with benchmark results showing better performance over that of the stock 8800 GTX!

Another site (cant remember which) mentioned they're 8800 GTX OC'd to 650 / 2000.
No benchmarks for that one un-fortunately

But yea, post your OC results in here!

Hopefully I will be able to let you know tomorrow as long as Newegg gets it shipped today

The interesting part of this will be whether or not an OC'd GTS can really match a GTX - a 7900GT could match a 7900GTX it could, since they were basically the same card, but the GTS lacks more than just clockspeed.

That has me bugged as well.. How can a card that has 32 less stream processors, 64 less bus bits, 4 less rops, etc etc perform the same with a slight overclock?

Who knows, but according to Firing Squad it can.

Maybe all that extra mumbo jumbo in the 8800 GTX is just not necessary with DX9 games yet? maybe it'll make more of a difference when DX10 shows up?

Im betting nobody is using complex enough shaders yet to really use the gtx.

Bah, I'll bet my Maze 4 block won't fit on the 8800GTX. Oh well, I'm sure Danger Den will have a rev. of the Maze 5 for the 8800's soon...if it doesn't already fit.

Anyone know where the correct version of nTune is to OC these cards...? When you click on the 'Monitor Temperature' button, you get a pop-up that says that this is a performance tuning feature, would you like to download nTune... If you click yes, it opens a browser to an nTune download page, but after you install nTune you still don't get any gpu oc'ing options... It's just like the one for nForce... I'm thinking it's an old version.

I heard you can OC the steam processors? Isn't that insane? from now on you'll see clocks like this 550/1800/1350 (gtx clocks) or gts clocks 500/?/1200

It's like a whole new "thing"

I PMed a Mod asking to sticky this thread. It looks like a lot of members are upgrading to these and I recall a 7900GT Volt mod thread that was sticked helping a lot of members reach the limits of their cards. These G80's look to set the standards for PC gaming.

After seeing the GTX in action, im saving a few more bucks for that 8800GTX. Will take time, but in the end, it will all be worth the wait and effort.

God.. im still blown away by those benchmarks..

Its like the new R300.

edit - 8800GTX SLi, literally kills anything on the market. We are talking about playing oblivion using maxed out sliders, 2560x1600 4xAA (maybe 8 or 16 xCSAA), 16xAF with playable fps.. :Q

Yeah, and that game still wants more:
The 8800 GTX SLI is still the bottleneck in this game at resolutions above 1280x1024, showing just how demanding Oblivion is when it comes to graphics cards.

Quad 8800GTX Sli?

The G80s wont flex their true potential until drivers mature AND DX10 arrives, where we could see more performance increase.

edit: Ok... I think I'm a dumbass... I think you still need the coolbits regedit to OC... I'll try that when I get home today.

MSI 8800 GTX - 742/1000 - it just needed a small fan on top of the card - Without additional cooling - 718/1000.

Is there something special about that MSI board, or simply the fact that you've run a little more air over it?

Edit: Well since you're still hitting 718 with no additional cooling... cherry-picked?

Edited - memory is at 1000, spent too much time talking double rates today.

Nothing special, it is not cherry picked, retail board not a review sample. I have a EVGA 8800GTX retail board that does 714/990 stock, 738/1000 with cooling. It is the luck of the draw just like CPUs. I also have a NV engineering sample but it is special.
