does BIOS 18 for IP35-E support E0 dual/quads?

I believe it does. From what I understand, the E5200 is an E0 stepping and it works just fine. VirtualLarry just got one going in his IP35-E.

No, E5200 is M0, not E0. I don't know about E0.

Thanks for the correction, Larry. I gotta work on my late-night reading comprehension skills.

Ok. So many 3-pin connectors are there?

why don't you be a sport and google for this yourself? I just found it in under 2 minutes of googling + visiting pages.

For the Northbridge heat problem.....has anyone tried installing one of THESE or something similar in place of the Heatsink?

What north bridge heat problem?
I have 2 of these boards in computers running folding@home 24/7 and they have been running for weeks like this now. No problems at all.

Good for you, unfortunately some of us DO have a problem with the Northbridge getting hot when overclocking.

For those who have something positive to contribute.....Have any of you who have had a problem with Northbridge cooling, what have you done to help the problem.

I used a HR05 on the NB and a VCRE on the sb with my quad and it helped substantially. The PWMs need the extra cooling more though if you use a Q6600. When I switched to the E8400 PWM and nb temps went down by a large margin however.

On a side note my IP35E died this week. I came home to a BSOD and the thing refused to post. After 3 days of troubleshooting I have about given up on it. Moving on to a X48DQ6 I traded a G92 GTS for. It served me well for almost a year at 24/7 100 percent load ; ;

Thanks for the reply, although the HR05 is a great cooler, it's a little pricey for me right now. I'm going to lap the NB and PWM 'sinks this weekend, i'll post back what if any improvements.

Sorry to hear about your board, but it sounds like it did a great job for you.

conlan, you can also try strap a 60mm or 80mm to the PWM area as well, I managed to string tie a 60mm in front of the PWM heatsink. Works out well.

Abit.com.tw is now completely dead to me. Last night I was able to get to the download page but there were no files on the FTP servers, all of them. Did they go under or are they just redoing their website to reflect their exit from the Mobo biz?

Still anybody want to mirror?

they moved the servers to Taiwan several weeks ago.
since then no new users have been able to join & post due to some error with the setup & nobody in Taiwan seems to have the knowledge/time/willingness to sort it.
It's currently down along with the other abit Taiwan servers.

later BIOS should do away with the dual boot as long as you don't disconnect all power (incl. standby) from the board (i.e. at PSU switch or socket) when you shut down.
If you remove all power then the board will dual boot the first time following power being reconnected - this is normal for a P35 chipset board & not just abit P35s - but shouldn't thereafter (until you next totally remove all power).

Heidfirst what was the name of the software that switched my bios without using a floppy. I forgot now how I switched from beta #14 to #12 because then it was more stable. Is that software still on the other thread on page one? can I use it for #18? is #18 bios a beta or final? how long has it been around?

probably FlashMenu. It's 1 of the better programmes for flashing in Windows but that in itself is inherently riskier than doing it in DOS so I/we always recommend using AWDflash (supplied in the BIOS download package) in DOS.
BIOS 18 is final & is dated 30th May 2008.

Info on how to flash an abit either from floppy or USB memory stick http://www.theraptorpit.com/fo...dex.php?showtopic=2628

Hey guys,

I've recently lost video on my system below in the sig. Swapped out video cards and still not getting a signal to the monitor. I did notice a green and red light next to the 24 pin power on the MB. I've been trying to download the IP35-E manual from Abit without much luck. Does anyone know what a red light might mean. It's between the ATX power and the RAM slot
