Easy way to raise Illusion is

Use Muffle spell at anytime

which almost seems broken since it raises your illusion insanely fast. In fact once I hit 70 illusion I stopped casting it since it leveled me up so fast and my destruction fell behind.

How did you get conjuration up to 92? I'm 29 now and mine is still 50ish It's so hard to raise the skill even when I'm constantly soul trapping and conjuring pets.

Conjuring tougher creatures raises your skill faster. I also paid for training after 75 to help me reach 80 faster (I wanted a specific perk soon). Once above 90 though, trainers won't be able to help you. It's not like there a re many ways to spend money if one doesn't wear armour (being a pure mage) except boots until I can enchant shoes with a similar elemental resistance.

So far forsworn heart people are the only things that are really dangerous to me.

You can sneak behind them, pickpocket their briar heart and it's instant death with a nice AAAH!! sound. Then you see the hole in their chest where the briar heart was before you stole it.

When the cell resets (probably after 3 days, won't know for sure til the CK is available) containers also reset and your stuff goes bye-bye. Houses don't reset.

As long as you regularly visit the area so it doesn't reset.... You're ok. But if you forget... *poof*

Dragon landed so hard in the mage college courtyard it broke the tiles.

This one was a toughie that crash landed airplane-style and made a trench all the way to right in my face. It was still alive and I was sure it would bite and kill me (no armour, 130HP only) but the storm atronach finished it with a big zap just in time to save my bacon.

Cool tip - the carriage outside the village stables will take you to several of the major towns for some money. nice way to get a fast travel point or get someplace quick that you don't have a fast travel point for.

Overall. It's exactly what it was hyped up to be. This is really saying something too.

I have been VERY jaded for quite some time, and figured this was going to be just another game (although really hoping of a good oblivion sequel). The game is immersive, the world huge and beautiful...and this is VANILLA version!

I can hardly imagine what the modding community is going to do with this..

I would not hesitate to buy this game again for the full price of 60 dollars. This is coming from someone who barely will spend 10-20 dollars on a decent game. If your on the fence...just buy it..there are so many ways to play the game..you decide.

As far as I'm concerned..I'm going to do a full play through several different ways.

I'm also really impressed with the vanilla version of this game. Very satisfying to say the least! I never buy games unless they're MMOs and then I end up getting the collector's editions (for the extra items and perks, etc...).

There is absolutely no reason why anyone shouldn't buy this game. It's that good. Well, ok, I lied; there is one reason. It's extremely addictive and you may end up losing your job, house, car, spouse, children, that fish with the one fin ripped off that you keep in a separate tank from the others...

I've read that it's not guarranteed though. I kept my stuff in a barrel outside the smith at the entrance to Whiterun for quite awhile.

The house guarrantees that you don't lose anything.

Bethesda really hit the ball out of the park with this game. My only concern is it's a little too easy, even on Expert difficulty. I may need to bump to Master, though I'd prefer to leave that for the next playthrough.

Shouts... I haven't really bothered with these at all, I only have three and one I still can't use. I just got it and had to have at least half a dozen dragon souls already accumulated, assuming you can stock them up. Even if that's not the case, I just killed a Blood Dragon and that one shout still isn't usable. It says I need Dragon Souls to unlock it... Grrr...

You have to hover over it and hit 'r', for whatever reason clicking it does not bring up the option to unlock.

I went through a period where I forgot about the shouts, but now I use them very often. Some are more useful than others, but they do have some benefits.

It really depends on your character build style and then your play style. You may want to try a different character build to see if something else works better for you.

Though, the challenge I'd gladly accept. I love it when a game makes me reload several times and forces me to rethink my strategies.

So, 41 hours in, I've only had 2 CTDs. Not bad...?

Do companions level up with your character? Ever since level 20-ish, I noticed Lydia was getting 1 hit KO'd very often by relative weaklings like Draugrs. I dumped her for someone else, a mage, and things appear to be going slightly better.

Must find me a list of "grand souls". I've wasted quite a few grands on greaters... Those bastards were hard for just "greater".

^^Skyrim wiki says grand soul gems are filled by enemies over level 38, don't think you're running into them yet. I would not carry anything larger than the greater variety until you finally get a "you don't have a soul gem large enough" for a powerful enemy.

happens to me all the time. fast travelling seems to crash me a lot too. it blows, but on the bright side I get to explore the country side more.

This is why you get into the habit of saving every 5 mins or less.

Finally decided to bench Lydia after killing her for the umpteenth time. She never learns to stay away from my swinging greatsword. If I equip her with a broom maybe she will make herself useful round the house.

Found someone better suited to protect me while I go hunting butterflies....

Aranea lights stuff up! Kind of disconcerting how much crap she gets flying around me. Frost, flame, shocks, elementals, it is is quite fun.

odd. level 29 and it only crashed twice so far. once black screen with noise right after i get my dragon voice and once ctd walking around.

so far very stable game.

I am wondering if I should spend skill into enchanting or do I get better items later on anyway? archer, 1 handed, light armor, assassin type.
