hmm, if anything that 4gb .exe made my ctd worse...very annoying- hope the official patch fixes what ever it is that's causing these. Love the game- 60+ hrs in, had maybe 3 CTD in the first 20 hours, then average maybe 1 every 2 hours after that...w/ the 4gb exe I've had 2 in 20 mins.

Guild Wars has a 5 meg executable and a single, six gig data file. It loads quickly and is incredibly stable. I sometimes wish other game publishers would take note.

OK. Came across a place while wandering the countryside (not on a quest) and it sure was worth the trouble. Siege on the Dragon Cult at Foreholst Hold was the most 'kill lots of badass baddies and avoid very nasty traps while getting awesome loot' fun I've had playing this game so far. Toughest dragon priest too. That Rahgot was a nastard (nasty bastard). [/img]

Hmm sounds intriguing, I'll keep an eye out for that place. I have been doing a bit of wandering around since I finished the main quest and taking care of some of my unfinished quests as well as pondering starting the stormcloak quest. I had been thinking about starting a melee toon but I can't stand the idea of leveling up enchanting to 100 again and repeating the main quest line. I'm considering the idea of switching to 2h and heavy armor to make more of a shadowknight character but I imagine that will be long and painful to level up those skills at 42.

In the meantime I finally got conjuration to 100 for the two pets and working on alteration now. Illusion is really easy to level and I stopped it at 75 and I'm saving that for later. Still only at 85 destruction, doesn't help that I'm a Kajiit so all my caster skills started out at 15 but won't matter in the end when I get there.

Alteration has a fun spell to play with once you hit 40 to move objects around. It's super easy to level too. Just make a spare pare of alteration reduction gear and find an easy mob and kite it around while casting the skin spells I'm at 52 alteration now.

I am trying to complete "the horn of Jurgen Windcaller" The Tome Raider.

I have tried running, through the stones raising the portcullises and then shouting twice.

Standing before the three stones shouting twice.

Standing on the first rock to open the first portcullis and then shouting.

Sometimes I can make it through the first portcullis one but not the rest.

What am I doing wrong?

I just ran and at the last stone, spammed the shout until i made it through. Took probably 10 attempts because if you aren't lined up perfectly, you will get caught on the walls. Once you get through, the doors stay open. I had to have Lydia wait because she kept getting in front of me.

i asked this in a differetn skyrim thread. i wanted to quote my question here below to see if anyone has any suggestions for me. Its an odd issue cause at first release the game ran just fine until maybe last wed i think.
I have since tried reinstalling W7 and Steam and redownloaded the game. But still does the same thing.

did some kind of patch come out that may have done this? When it ran fine before, i had all the same drivers..etc, so nothing really has changed. One day the game just started doing this and got worse.

now i can't play the game. load screen hangs onscreen but i can hear the music and my character move around, its like listening to myself play, but can't see anything.

When the issue first started i could cntrl/alt/delete and the game screen would come back on and work ok, now it doesnt and shows black screen or shows windows task manager.
updated audio drivers, tried 16bit audio
reinstalled dx and dotnet.
tried low quality settings....nothing works so far. After many attempts, i did see the gamescreen come on after an cnt/alt/delete a few times but issue repeats itself next time i load up the game.
already have the latest NV driver

When you run through the three stones just sprint with the alt key and at the last stone hit the shout to propel yourself into the hallway.

1. This RAM patch is post-patch, so it works perfectly even if you have the updated version from Steam. You can always download the non-patched tesv.exe and use the LAA patch as well!

2.Performance seems unaffected on my end, but that's not saying much in comparison with out 2 system. I'd say definitely give it a try and let me know how it goes! I can always put a mid-end texture pack together.

Getting ctd's frequently after using the post proccessing injector tweak. This sucks because it looks so beautiful. When I first got the game it was very stable. When Steam released the update a week or so ago I got ctd's right away. Fixed it with the Shyrim4gb.exe tweak. Now I get ctd's again with the post processing injector.

Every time you guys go to Riften, make sure to check the "confiscated goods" chests in the towers outside the main gate. Lots of good, free loot in them.

It simply allows you to use the LAA patch that was fixing a lot of CTDs. No need to uninstall, just drag & drop.

This Ancient Vampire just decapitated me on his second swing. Literally, I walked up to him with full health and was headless only a couple seconds later. My character's level 30 and decked out in full heavy armor.

Just how ancient is this vampire... Lulz.

So I finally installed the 4gb fix today after getting sick of the CTD's every hour or so and it absolutely killed my fps. I'm only getting max 25 fps while I was normally getting a constant 60+ fps without the 4gb fix.

No clue what that's all about.

The FXAA mod is very good. It makes the game look so much better. But which line do I tweak to make it brighter? its just way too dark.
