Thinking of our hospital system in Eastern WA, I am the only care provider who is transgender and open about it in my region. I've easily taken care of about a dozen transgender individuals over the past 10 years when they are admitted. ER docs see far more. These admissions weren't psych. The conditions were lymphoma, heart attack, recurrent diverticulitis, cellulitis, pneumonia and COVID are the ones I can remember. Every single one of them were really cool individuals.
One of our committee chairs is nonbinary. We have done several presentations already and plan on doing more. I've also been invited to have more discussions and presentations at higher levels.
