Huh, so people are having good luck overclocking these AGOIA cores?? I am asking because I am really in need of a stopgap upgrade to my system to hold off before my next major upgrade. I am currently running an Athlon 1265 (9x141) on an A7V133. I have an Alpha PAL8045 with a Vantec Stealth fan on it.

I see they have these 1600XP AGOIA's at Newegg for $54 with free shipping. I was planning on holding off for a Barton core, but I realized this is going to take a while, and will probably do a major system overhaul next spring/summer.

So, do you guys think I have a good chance of hitting 1750-1800 Mhz with the AGOIA 1600XP? I am willing to slap on a higher output fan to help with cooling.

Maxes out at 166, havent tried going higher by turning up the multi, but I'm happy with the high fsb, so dont feel like lowering it just to turn up the multi

If you've got a AGOIA or AROIA, chances are very good that you'll get what we're getting for now.

I would imaine it would o/c well. However, I don't think this board is readily available just yet. The only info I could dig up on it was from some page in another laguage, and it looked like older pictures. The 8K5A series, which is essentially the same minus AGP 8X, o/c's like the devil, so the KT400 based board should do fine too.

OK I have a quandry for everyone to speculate upon. I've been running my AGOIA and AROIA setups with the specs I listed above for almost a week and the AGOIA@1.83ghz and AROIA@ the same 1.75ghz due to the limitation of the 2100DDR in that box and I've crunched ECCp on both simutaneously and SETI simultaneously as well and oddly the AROIA box has out crunched the higher clocked AGOIA consistantly on both projects despite the AROIA having higher temps, lower clock speed and FSB, and identical usage I thought it might be getting sweeter WU's and DP's but it's been going on several weeks now and Continues to outpreform it's faster brother! Any conjecture is welcome, and I know the XP doesn'ty clock throttle(besides the AGOIA runs 10-11c cooler) so what gives?

LMFAO Bithlo is nose picking trailer trash heaven/hell no doubt about it! If you remember Jim Philips on Real Radio, he makes fun of them all the time. I just find it strange the AROIA rig would keep getting sweeter WU's and DP's and I can't see how the AGOIA's performance could be suffering as all indications are that it's cooler and higher performing
